One of the most successful club teams in the country will be switching parent organizations, it was announced today.
Ranked #4 in the Extra Elite Eighty 14U Club Rankings heading into the summer,
Steve Jones told Extra Inning Softball that starting this fall his current Texas bombers Gold – Jones team “will be Impact Gold’s top 16U National. We will add three to five high-level players to our existing core roster, but the team will primarily consist of the special players that transition with us from the Bombers.”
Prior to joining the Bombers organization in November of 2018, the team played for the Diamond Sports Hotshots program and has had a long line of success dating back to 2016 (see list below).
Jazz Jackson Vesely, the President & Program Director of the Impact Gold Fast Pitch Organization, added: “We are excited to add such a dynamic team to our National teams. I’m excited to see this team up close and help get them into our system. There is no doubt they are one of the top teams in the country and we look forward to accomplishing many great things together.”

We asked Coach Jones about the transition and the reasons it’s taking place… here’s what he had to say…
Q&A with Coach Steve Jones:
Why makes the organizational move at this time?
This move is focused on what is in the best interest of the gifted athletes on our team. I like to tell people we are not running “away” from anything as much as we are running “to” something that we find appealing and beneficial for the futures of these young ladies. Their best interest drives all our actions and I firmly believe that is the primary motivator of the organization we are joining.
What are your thoughts about going from one great Texas-based program to another?
I leave a solid organization with some great people involved in it to join another great organization that has a very long history of success in developing, growing, promoting and preparing young ladies to not only participate at the next level but to excel at the highest levels of the college game and life. That’s evident in the long list of IG alums that have gone on to the top programs in the country and have excelled as freshman, as well as alums who have attended all other levels of college programs and continue to excel.
Talk about the transition and why you felt it was a good opportunity for your players…
The decision to make this exciting transition was more about the proper fit for our team and a platform that we believe provides the best opportunity to fulfill the vision and trajectory of this group of athletes.
We are forever thankful to Scott Smith and the Bomber’s Org during the time we were with the organization. We have some wonderful friends that we will miss seeing as often as we did. But this move just made sense given the synergies between our team and the IG Org and the common focus on the best interest of the athletes within the Org.
What attracted you to Impact Gold?
We join an organization replete with great talent, resources and a commitment by leadership to investment in their athletes. We are excited to join, strengthen and contribute to the continued success of a top-notch program in Impact Gold led by a woman who is clearly committed to the growth, development and success of the young ladies in it.
Jazz Jackson has played the game at the highest levels as a former LSU standout and has transitioned since that time to become one of the premier program directors of one of the best and most successful orgs in the country. She spends an inordinate amount of energy working for the athletes and on the general betterment of the organization, and I’ve witnessed that from the outside looking in. We’ve had a couple of opportunities to join this organization, but at those times I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. I guess the third time is truly the charm!
