Breaking News: Florida’s Kendyl Lindaman Headlines 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-America® NCAA Division I Softball Team

University of Florida catcher Kendyl Lindaman headlines the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I softball teams. Lindaman has been voted the as the 2020 recipient of the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year award for Division I softball.

Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.

A senior education sciences major with a perfect 4.00 GPA, Lindaman hit .410 with 32 hits, four doubles, seven home runs, 22 RBI, a team-high 18 walks and a team-best .525 on-base percentage in 27 games for the Gators before the 2020 NCAA softball season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lindaman, who transferred from the University of Minnesota after the 2018 season, has played in all 94 games of her Florida career, including 93 starts. In her overall softball tenure, she has a .374 average with 216 hits, 34 doubles, a pair of triples, 62 homers and 207 RBI. Lindman is a two-time NFCA All-American, and was named to the All-SEC First Team in 2019.

She was a 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Third Team honoree.

The 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I Softball Teams feature 14 members with a 4.0 GPA and 19 members with at least a 3.90 GPA as either undergraduate or graduate student-athletes. The 11 members on the first team have an average GPA of 3.92.

In addition to Lindman, the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I Softball Teams have eight repeat selections from the 2018 and 2019 teams – Mackenzie Boesel (University of South Carolina), Maria Cegledy (Kent State University), Celene Funke (University of Louisville), Bailey Hemphill (University of Alabama), Mandi Roemmich (Drake University), Kaylee Tow (University of Alabama), Bailey Vick (University of Kentucky) and Sami Williams (Iowa State University).
