The Atlanta Legacy Showcase began bracket play across all of its divisions on Saturday, amid rain delay after rain delay throughout the Atlanta metro area.
Even though we had to dodge some raindrops, we’ve got some prospects to tell you about that looked good throughout the day during our walk around the parks….

We got a good look at Birmingham Thunderbolts – Rocky’s group in 16U at Lost Mountain in the afternoon when they faced Ohio Hawks ’05 – Lenos on Saturday and a couple players stood out:

* Regan Monroe, a 2023 catcher, was coming off of a good weekend at the Colorado Sparkler, where she hit 7-for-17 and continued the good stretch of games into this weekend.
The Mount Washington, Kentucky native for Birmingham Thunderbolts – Rocky made a nice adjustment on a ball in the second for a base hit, then threw a runner out in the next inning.
* Ashlynn Campbell dropped down a perfectly placed slap bunt single to the right side and was nearly to first base by the time a fielder could grab it.
A Wetumpka, Alabama native, the second baseman has speed for days on the bases and made a very nice diving snag moving to her left to save a base hit in the later innings.
* Tri-sport athlete Sara Phillips made her presence felt in three innings of relief in that game against Ohio Hawks – as she allowed just one earned run on one hit and a walk with two strikeouts.
Sara has a mix of pitches that includes a rise ball with great movement and a changeup that kept hitters off balance extremely well. Got a ton of out-in-front swings on her off speed pitches.
