Coaching Update: Glenn Moore Named Wagner Head Coach

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner College Director of Athletics Brendan Fahey has announced the hiring of Glenn Moore as head softball coach.

“I’d like to thank Brendan Fahey, Nicole Gaudenzi, and the entire Wagner administration for giving me this opportunity. I look forward to connecting with our current student-athletes, recruit future Seahawks, and develop a championship program.”

Moore arrives on Grymes Hill after serving as the head coach at Brooklyn College from 2019-2022. No stranger to the New York City area, Moore was named a finalist for the 2023 CUNYAC Coach of The Year Award after doubling the Bulldogs’ number of wins each year.

Moore began his coaching career at Bishop Ford High School in 2014 and from there, headed to Saint Saviour High School in 2015. At Saint Saviour, Moore increased the team batting average from .295 to .385 and improved the team’s ERA from 3.00 to 1.66.

In 2016 he led his team to a Division A and City championship season. After the 2019 season Moore got his start in collegiate coaching at Brooklyn College. Moore was a key to the Bulldogs’ turnaround, helping Brooklyn College reach its first conference tournament berth since 2014.

Moore’s coaching experience extends beyond softball.  From 2006-09, he served as the head coach of the junior varsity football team at Bishop Ford High School.  He would transition to an assistant coach for the varsity football team at Bishop Ford from 2009-2014, coaching defensive backs and wide receivers.

While on staff and during his playing years in high school, Moore has been part of 10 high school championships.  Over the years, he has also had the opportunity to coach student-athletes that have gone on to continue their academic and playing careers at every level of the NCAA.
