Kyle Nobach

“I am forever grateful to Coach Tarr for giving me an opportunity to develop champions and build a foundation for life-long success.”

Assistant Coach Kyle Nobach

A Marysville, Washington native, Nobach brings a pedigree of winning and leadership to the Husky program. As a player at Oregon State, Nobach served as a team captain for the 2018 team that won the College World Series in addition to being named All-Pac-12 Honorable mention in 2015 and Pac-12 All-Academic in 2016 and 2018.

“Growing up just north of Seattle my family and I were always around Husky athletics,” Nobach said. “I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the University of Washington family. I am forever grateful to Coach Tarr for giving me an opportunity to develop champions and build a foundation for life-long success.”

After his playing career, Nobach joined the coaching ranks and quickly excelled. He was named the Associate Head Coach and Hitting Coach for the baseball team at Everett Community College in 2018. He then added the position of head coach of the Bend Elks, a summer collegiate baseball team, to his resume in 2019.

Nobach has also been an instructor as BASE by Pros since 2019, a baseball and softball training service based in Snohomish County. In his role there, Nobach helps hitters develop a better understanding of the process required to dominate at the plate, while also promoting a championship mindset.

At Washington, Nobach will in charge of offensive development and the outfield.

“Coach Nobach comes from one of the most competitive college baseball programs in the country. His time as a student-athlete at Oregon State combined with his recent coaching experience and head-coaching experience will bring a lot to our program,” head coach Heather Tarr said. “He was part of a national championship program while serving as team captain. These intangibles will bring a lot to the women in our program.”

Ashley Carter brings over a decade of softball coaching experience to the Washington program. A 2008 graduate of Grambling State, Carter got her start in the coaching game in 2011 as the head coach at La Cueva High School in New Mexico. In 2015, she joined Menlo College as an assistant softball coach before being named the head coach at Notre Dame de Namur University in 2016.

She returned to Menlo College in 2018 as an assistant coach for two seasons before being named the head coach at nearby Shoreline Community college.

In addition to her scholastic coaching experience, Davis Carter is the owner of LeadHership Athletics, where she teaches high school female athletes how to become confident leaders through sport. She has also served as a softball coach at BASE by Pros in Snohomish County.

“I am very honored to be a part of a program that strives for excellence,” Carter said. “I look forward to helping our women compete on and off the field. My passion lies in developing female athletes to own their power in the world. There is no greater program I’d feel more blessed to be part of than Washington Softball.”

In her role at Washington, Carter will assist with the team’s offensive development and the catchers.

“Coach Carter brings years of experience coaching at all levels to our program,” head coach Heather Tarr said. “She is devoted to developing young women into becoming the most durable and competitive versions of themselves.”
