What the Nomination Numbers Tell Us
The numbers show more than which organizations currently have the most athletes in the nomination pool.
They demonstrate how widely distributed the Class of 2030 talent pool has become.
Athletes in the nomination database represent organizations and teams throughout multiple EIS regions, with submissions coming from California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, the Midwest and many other areas.

The nomination records also show athletes competing at many of the country’s major events, including PGF Nationals, Alliance Nationals, Colorado Sparkler, Zoom Into June, Atlanta Legacy, Top Gun events, Bombers Exposure, Scenic City, USA Softball HPP events and numerous regional and national showcases.
That information matters because tournament competition is one of several pieces of information considered during the evaluation process.

Why Tournaments Matter
A statistic without context only tells part of the story.
A .400 batting average, 100 strikeouts or a strong ERA can be impressive, but the Rankings Committee also wants to understand where an athlete competed, the level of competition she faced and how she performed when the competition increased.
That is why tournament schedules and performance information are valuable components of an athlete’s nomination.
Competing in major national and regional events can give evaluators additional context surrounding an athlete’s performance. It helps answer questions about the level of competition, consistency and how an athlete’s tools translate against strong opponents.
However, simply playing for a nationally recognized organization or attending a major tournament does not guarantee a ranking.
The objective is to evaluate the complete athlete.

The SERV™ Methodology
The SERV™ Methodology brings structure and consistency to the rankings process. Software organizes athlete data, statistics and tournament performance; Evaluate allows the Rankings Committee to assess skills, athleticism, competition level and overall impact; Research examines each athlete’s broader body of work and consistency; and Verify ensures information is reviewed before rankings are finalized.
Together, SERV™ helps ensure rankings are based on comprehensive evaluation and verified performance—not name recognition alone.

What Happens After an Athlete Is Nominated?
Submitting a nomination does not mean an athlete has been ranked. It means she has officially entered the evaluation pool.
Once nominations close, the Extra Inning Softball Rankings Committee continues reviewing the Class of 2030 athletes through the SERV™ Methodology
Athletes are evaluated within their regions and nationally as the committee works through the nomination pool.
Every properly nominated athlete will receive an EIS Regional Ranking and will also be considered for the Class of 2030 Rankings
There are no ties in the rankings.

EIS 5-Star Rating System ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Class of 2030 rankings will also feature the EIS 5-Star Rating System, providing another layer of evaluation alongside an athlete’s numerical ranking.
The star rating helps communicate the broader evaluation of an athlete while the numerical ranking establishes her placement within the rankings.
Together, the two systems provide families, coaches and the softball community with a more complete view of where an athlete currently stands in the EIS evaluation process.

A New National Rankings Leaderboard
The Class of 2030 will also be featured through the new Extra Inning Softball Rankings Leaderboard. Athlete profiles on the leaderboard are designed to provide significantly more than a name on a list. Nominate your athlete HERE!
Players will be showcased with information including their photo, bio, ranking number, 5-Star Rating and additional athlete information, creating another layer of visibility around their accomplishments.
The leaderboard is part of EIS’s continued effort to turn rankings into meaningful recognition and exposure for the athletes who earn it.
