The Triple Crown International Challenge will take place June 25-27, 2021 the weekend before the start of the prestigious Colorado 4th of July event in Denver.
According to the official Triple Crown International Challenge website:
“It will break the travel softball team barrier by allowing the best players to compete for their country and represent their nationality in highly competitive games.”
“It will not only be a showcase for college coaches but also for coaches of other countries looking to fill future national team rosters.”
The rosters for 21 of the 22 teams (Canada White is still pending) have been released and four countries will field two teams: Canada, Israel, Mexico and the United States.
According to the TC International Challenge site, for a player “to qualify and try out for any team(s) / country for this event you must meet at least 2 of the following criteria:
- U.S. citizen
- Have a parent born in the country you want to represent
- Have a grandparent born in the country you want to represent
- Have a great grandparent born in the country you want to represent
- Born in the country you want to represent
