Event News: Bombers Go the Distance for 14U Alliance National Title (Aug. 7, 2022)

Texas Bombers Gold-Malpass won the Tier 1 14U Alliance national championship at AFCS 2.

Many of the top 14U teams in the nation went to Chino Hills, CA, this week for the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series 2. Here are some of Sunday’s highlights at Cal State Fullerton (All Rankings Extra Elite Eighty Club Rankings):

BOMBERS GO THE DISTANCE FOR TIER 1 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

#6 Texas Bombers Gold-Malpass went the distance to beat #3 Athletics Mercado 2025-Tidd, 2-10, 3-1, and 10-2, in a best-of-three series to claim the Tier 1 14U Alliance national championship on Sunday at Cal State Fullerton.

2026 RF Ki’ele Ho-Ching went 4 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs, 2025 1B Jaelyn Toledo went 3 for 4 with a run and three RBIs, 2026 LF Victoria Guzman went 2 for 4 with a run, 2025 SS Thimir Bracamontes went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI, 2025 3B Sinalei Talataina went 2 for 4 with an RBI and 2025 2B Kenzie Farrier went 2 for 3 with a run to lead the Athletics to a 10-2 victory over the Bombers in Game 1.

Texas Bombers Gold-Malpass came back to beat Athletics Mercado 2025-Tidd, 3-1, in Game 2 to force a deciding third game. 2026 SS Brooklyn Gidley went 3 for 4 with an RBI, 2025 3B Meiko Dominguez went 1 for 4 with two RBIs and 2025 RF Mikayla Wilson and 2025 LF Zoey Greenwood both went 2 for 3 with a run and 2025 CF Bryana “Breezy” Pantalion went 1 for 3 with a run to lead the Bombers’ offense. 2025 P Cali Deal allowed two hits, one earned run and struck out six to get the complete game win for the Bombers.

2025 1B Ava Renteria went 3 for 4 with two runs and an RBI, Dominguez went 2 for 5 with three runs and two RBIs, 2025 C Braelyn Daniels went 3 for 5 with an RBI, 2025 DP Laila Nobles went 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI, Gidley went 2 for 5 with a run and two RBIs, 2025 2B Caigan Crabtree went 1 for 3 with a run and an RBI and Greenwood went 1 for 2 with a run and an RBI as Texas Bombers Gold-Malpass clinched the Alliance 14U national championship with an 11-6 win over Athletics Mercado 2025-Tidd in Game 3.

“This has been one of the strongest teams I have had the pleasure of coaching,” Bombers coach Kristi Malpass said. “They have overcome so much together as a team this summer, riding the limited players and fighting until the very end! The growth in them has been an honor to watch. You are talking some of the best athletes in the country all together and they proved that!! This national championship means everything to them. We set goals each weekend and finished on top. What I tell them all the time … “pitch by pitch, play by play, game by game until the end!! ‘”

OC Batbusters 2026-Fernandez won the Tier 2 Alliance 14U national championship at AFCS 2.

BATBUSTERS CLAIM TIER 2 NATIONAL TITLE

#58 OC Batbusters 2026-Fernandez beat #13 Aces Fastpitch Club, 3-2 and 5-2, to win the Tier 2 14U national championship series on Sunday at Cal State Fullerton.

2026 1B Danni Lopez drove in the winning run with a walk-off sacrifice fly to left field in the bottom of the 8th as OC Batbusters 2026-Fernandez beat Aces Fastpitch Club, 3-2, in Game 1. 2026 RHP Citaly Valencia allowed six hits, one earned run and struck out six to get the complete game win for the Batbusters.

2026 2B Ciara Bernardini went 1 for 3 with a run and an RBI, 2026 SS Marcilynn Rubalcava went 1 for 3 with a run and two RBIs, Lopez went 1 for 3 with an RBI, 2026 3B Sophia Sandoval went 1 for 3 with a run and 2026 CF Iliannie Carrillo went 2 for 2 with a run to lead OC Batbusters 2026-Fernandez to a 5-2 win over Aces Fastpitch Club in Game 2 to capture the Tier 2 14U national championship.

“Winning the Alliance Tier 2 national title was a team win with contributions from every girl on the roster,” Batbusters coach Saul Fernandez said. “At one point in the tournament, we were down to one catcher and nine healthy position players. (Batbusters-Fernandez) was led by dominant pitching in the circle and timely hitting. Mix in some solid defense and the girls put together a memorable run to the National championship.”
