Event News: Top Club Nationals Is Down To Final Four (June 24, 2022)

Many of the top teams in the nation converged on Norman, OK, for the Top Club Nationals Wednesday-Saturday. Here are some of Friday’s highlights (All rankings Extra Elite Eighty Club Rankings):

In 18U games:

Oklahoma-bound 1B Jocey Erickson went 2 for 3 with a run and four RBIs and UCLA-bound C/1B Alexis Ramirez went 1 for 4 with three RBIs and Arizona-committed 2023 P Ryan Maddox allowed two hits, one run, four walks and struck out six in six innings to get the victory as #8 OC Batbusters-Stith beat #10 Bombers Gold-Lewis, 9-1, in the first game to force an “if” game. …

Ramirez hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to break a 3-3 tie and Batbusters-Stith held on for a 5-4 victory over Bombers-Lewis to earn a spot in the 18U Final Four of Top Club Nationals on Friday night in Norman, OK.

LSU-bound P Alea Johnson threw two scoreless innings with two strikeouts, Kentucky-committed 2023 P Sydney Langdon allowed two hits and one run in 2.1 innings and North Carolina-bound P Kenna Raye Dark pitched 0.2 innings of scoreless relief to lead #3 Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier to a 4-1 victory over Atlanta Vipers-Tamborra. …

Texas-bound SS Leighann Goode went 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs, Texas A&M-bound 1B Aiyanna Coleman went 3 for 3 with a run and two RBIs and Baylor-committed 2023 P Lexi Warncke allowed two hit, one run and struck out one in three innings to get the win as Texas Bombers Gold-Smith’s 11-1 win over Aces Fastpitch Club. ..

Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier take on #5 Texas Bombers Gold-Smith and #9 Hotshots National-Nelson face OC Batbusters-Stith in today’s Final Four.

Abilene Christian-committed 2023 P Ella Beeman did a stellar job in the circle, 2023 SS/2B September Flanagan did a great job on defense and 2-23 P/1B/DH, Alyssa Houston, 2024 CF Chaney Helton, 2023 OF Cheyenne Wood, 2023 3B Adyson Roberts and 2023 CF/SS/UT Kadence Stafford all had multiple hits for Iowa Premier National-Lacina in victories over Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier-Green, 8-4, and Impact Gold-Jazz, 10-1, on Friday. …

Nevaeh Williams was masterful on the mound, allowing 5 hits, one earned run, one walk and striking out eight in six innings for Virginia Unity-Meadows/Spinogatti in wins over Glory Adkins Gold, 4-1, and Hotshots Premier 07-Hawkins, 7-2, on Friday. Jazmine Ramos-Merced and  Kirsten Gainey also went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Unity.

2027 P Bella Pierce threw a no-hitter to give Hotshots National 09 a 15-1 quarterfinal victory over Oklahoma Legacy. Pierce had 29 strikouts in 15 innings, 2027 P/UT Taegan Lermann batted .588 with two doubles, two triples and a homer and 2027 P/1B/OF Hadley Leobow batted .583 with three doubles on the day for Hotshots National 09. …
