One of the top exposure events of the 2023 summer season will be the Diamond Direction CONNECT Camp to be held Monday, June 12, 2023 in Spartanburg, South Carolina—a training and education series of clinics that is the first of its kind.
And it’s not just for high schoolers in the classes of 2024 through 2028; registration opens on Monday (May 15) for college athletes who are entered in the Transfer Portal.
More and more college and travel ball coaches have shared their perspective that there is a growing need to help those searching for a new college home and the CONNECT Camp will give them that opportunity with about 20 major colleges being represented by coaches working the clinics.

Said one CONNECT Camp organizer:
“If a college athlete has entered the transfer portal properly, they can sign up for the sessions of their choice with the schools that have openings, the pitching sessions and participate in the live game at the end of the day.”
“We are dedicated to helping those who have entered the portal have opportunities to showcase their skills in one event on one day with so many programs to choose from.
In one day, on one location, over 80 of the one hour and 15-minute clinics will be held explains Co-Camp Director Nate Eaton:
“It’s one event for one day at one venue and the camper—you, the athlete—gets to choose where you go. We will accept high school athletes as well as college transfers that have registered on the portal.”
The beauty of the CONNECT Camp is that each camper gets to “craft” their very own schedule.
The colleges and universities represented will create their own session to maximize the talent and skills of the campers they will be working with (though each session is limited to 15 spots).
The list of college coaches who will be at the camp including ones from all Power 5 conferences as well as other DI programs. Even many university coaches that aren’t working the event have indicated they’ll be there to watch the workouts and instruction.
Here is the schedule for the June 12th event with where each university will run its clinics:
“This ensures that the players in attendance will get over an hour of time with a small group of campers and the college coach or coaches for the time slot and program they register for,” said one CONNECT director.
“Whether you fly or drive to South Carolina, the affordability of being able to choose multiple coaches to train with and get exposure at one softball complex all in one day, is really one of a kind. We are so excited to help softball athletes learn, grow and get maximum exposure so they can reach their dreams of playing collegiate softball.”
The entry fee to register is $300 and individual clinics are then $60 per clinic with a minimum of one to a maximum of six.
Pitchers have a special two hour session from 3:30 – 5:30 pm that will be $100.
The first clinic on June 12 begins at 7 am and the last one ends at 7 pm prior to a concluding game that will begin at 7:30 pm and will finish by 9:30 pm.
“This is the perfect opportunity for the camper to choose up to six college softball programs to work with in one day,” concludes Coach Eaton. “Come grow and learn with us in this national event!”
