Extra Inning Softball 12U All-Summer Team (Sept. 5, 2023)

EXTRA INNING SOFTBALL 2023 ALL-SUMMER TEAM

The 18U, 16U, 14U and 12U All-Summer Teams feature players across the nation who shined during the Summer of ’23 and are honored below… first with the 12U level:

12U DIVISION

MVP PLAYER

Lyla-Cate Wimberly, 2029, SS/UT, Impact Gold National 2029
Lyla-Cate (“LC”) is a triple-threat lefty with elite speed and the ability to bunt, slap and hit for power. She led the team, which had top finishes in in Colorado, Texas and Louisiana, with a .579 batting average and a .673 on-base percentage from the leadoff spot. Once on base, LC recorded 41 stolen bases—more than one per game—and had 56 runs scored in just 40 games.

MVP PITCHER

McKenna Seiler, 2028, P, Newtown Rock 12U National – Kiskurno
McKenna shined in the circle at two of the biggest 12U events of the summer: in the PGF 12U Premier Nationals bracket play, she recorded a 2-0 record with a 2.21 ERA while limiting opposing hitters to a .212 batting average and recorded 16 Ks is 12.2 innings.  A week later, at the 12U USA All-American games in Oklahoma City, she went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 11Ks, and a .191 BAA in 11.1 innings facing some of the best players in the country.

ALL-SUMMER TEAM

* Alexcia Caballero, 2029, RHP/1B, Impact Gold National 2029
Alexcia, or “X” as she’s called, led her team in innings pitched this summer with 74 IP and 39 strikeouts. She helped the Texas team capture a Top 7 finish in Colorado. Offensively she contributed with a .417 batting average and a 1.083 OPS while hitting in 24 RBIs in 40 games.

* Raelyn Dubrish, 2028, SS/P, Diamond Express/Impact Gold Zajac
A two-way standout, Raelyn started the summer batting .476 with a .567 on-base percentage and also pitched 46 innings with 65 K’s. She was selected to play in the USA Softball All-American Games and led her team to a 6-0 and co-championship (weather cancelled finale).

* Avery Dunlap, 2029, P/1B, Texas Blaze 2029 National
Another two-way player who shined on the mound and at the plate, Avery—playing her first year at 12U, had 100 strikeouts pitched in 53 innings and was also one of the team’s top hitters this summer with a .365 average and .974 OPS.
