Louisiana Lafayette-bound OF Mihyia Davis is one of those rare players that combines speed, power and finesse, offense and defense, basically, the total package.
Davis, #11 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100 released in October, is a major reason why Scott Smith’s Texas Bombers Gold are a major threat to contend for a title in every event they are entered in.
Here’s what we said about the senior in her Extra Elite 100 profile:
T-11—Mihyia Davis, OF, Texas Bombers – Smith (Louisiana-Lafayette)
Mihyia has game-changing speed and is slapper who can do it all: bunt to get on base, turn an infield hit into a single and then steal second and third to make it a triple. She also has the power to drive the ball out of the park. Even though the Ragin’ Cajun commit has leadoff, table-setting speed, she usually hits in the 5-hole in the offensively loaded Bombers offense. The numbers explain why—Mihyia hit .477 last year with four home runs and had 66 steals in 79 games. Explains Coach Scott Smith: “Her power is so good, she had 22 doubles hitting fifth in the order and if you drop a ball she will swipe the extra base. She just plays faster than anyone.” The senior also shines in track and volleyball and hails from Lovejoy in East Texas. She’s often compared to another speedster, Mia Scott from the Bombers, who went on to play for the Texas Longhorns.
Texas-bound IF Leighann Goode, #17 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100, considers Davis one of her best friends on the Bombers.
“Mihyia is a beast on the field, one of the top outfielders in the country with ridiculous range to go with a great arm, Goode said. “The speed she has is unmatched. If you get caught unfocused, she will take the next base. She has potential to hit a ball over the center-field fence or lay a bunt down. What makes Mihyia unique is her ability to stand out and make the other team question what they need to do to get her out. She’s a great player with an even better mental game.”
Texas A&M-bound OF Keely Williams, #23 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100, is blinded by Davis’ speed.
“Mihyia’s speed on the bases makes her a threat to those defending her” said Williams, who plays with Davis on the Bombers. “She can bunt for a base hit or slap for power to hit the ball out the park. Also, as an outfielder, by using her speed she can get to any ball hit in her vicinity. Combining all those skills, she’s one of the best slappers and outfielders in the game.”

High School Highlights: Made 1st Team All-District, Offensive MVP, Texas All-State and batted .561 with 46 base hits, 55 runs scored, 10 doubles, six triples and 10 home runs.
