Impact Gold National-Smith 3B/SS/2B/C Addyson Sheppard has made herself a player to be reckoned with on both sides of the ball as well as a person to be respected on and off the field.
The freshman is already ranked #4 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100.
Here’s what Extra Inning Softball wrote about the outstanding infielder/catcher when the rankings came out last Spring:
T-4—Addyson Sheppard, C/3B, Impact Gold National – Smith
Addyson has been a leader on Coach Gary Smith’s Impact Gold National team for years and is always on the field because of her versatility—she can play any position between the lines except for pitcher—and play them at the highest level. “Addy” is a dominant presence behind the plate and also when swinging the stick. She became a nationally prominent player in the 2025 class when she helped lead her Impact Gold National Smith team to a PGF National Championship in 2019. She’s a team leader who’s personable and charismatic on and off the field. Said Coach Smith: “You will see Addy on television playing big time DI softball in a few years.” Addyson has one of the strongest arms behind the plate in the 2025 class, boasting a personal record of a 1.6 second pop time and overhand throw of 69 mph, which is grabbing attention from all over the country from colleges. When not behind the plate, she is a steady and sturdy third baseman and can play all other infield positions as well. At the plate, Addyson has next level instincts with massive power. Her all exit speeds have been measured with her personal best of 78 mph and she consistently lives in the range of .650 in batting average. She was also a part of the USA Softball All-American (Region 5) program (2019 & 2020), a current participant in the USA Softball High Performance Program (Region 5 – Gulf Coast) and an invitee to the Select 30 Invitational Camp.
Her teammates are also very complimentary.
“Addy is an amazing teammate and consistently proves why she is one of the best players in the country,” said Impact Gold OF/MIF Regan Rohrlich, #7 in the 2026 Extra Elite 100. “She’s versatile on defense and locks down numerous positions (e.g. 3B, SS, catcher) for our team due to her cannon arm and athleticism. At the plate, Addy is an RBI machine from the 3-hole — she hits bombs and is the most clutch hitter I’ve ever seen. Her best qualities, however, are her leadership and positive attitude she always brings to our team. ‘Captain’ is one of the best teammates I’ve ever had and deserves all of the accolades coming her way.”
Sheppard is a game changer with her bat.
“Addy is an amazing player with talent that allows her to play anywhere on the field,” said Impact Gold C/IF Kaiya Fabela, #11 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100. “If I was a pitcher, I would be scared to face Addy. With a single swing of the bat, she is clearing the bases if not hitting it out of the park. One of my favorite attributes about Shepp is her ability to make everyone feel important. She is constantly cheering, encouraging and lifting her teammates to be the best they can be. I’m grateful I get to take the dirt with such an awesome person and athlete.”
Impact Gold P/1B Ella Kate Smith, # 2 in the 2026 Extra Elite 100, relies on Sheppard heavily.
“Addy Sheppard is one of the best teammates you could have,” Smith said. “The energy she brings everywhere she goes just makes you want to be better. On the field, she is always gives all she has whether it’s making great plays or encouraging everyone around her. She gets the job done on the field and behind the plate. She is someone you always want in your corner. It is a honor to play with Addy.”

Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them…
My travel team is Impact Gold National-Smith. I joined the Impact Gold Organization my first year of 12U, and I have enjoyed playing with them for the last four years. I really like the team-first atmosphere we promote at Impact Gold. This organization has helped me grow as an athlete and achieve whatever goals I have in mind.
