Extra Star Power: Audrey Lowry, the #2 Ranked Player in the 2024 Extra Elite 100… This Country Girl & Crafty Lefty Is Already Highly Coveted as a Franchise-Type Pitcher

Audrey Lowry, seen here pitching this fall for the Beverly Bandits, was ranked at #2 overall in the 2024 Extra Elite 100 released in September.

Audrey Lowrey, the #2 ranked player overall in the 2024 Extra Elite 100 which was released in September, can do it all inside the pitching circle and has championship experience for Beverly Bandits Premier 16U-Conroy and Tri-West Hendricks High in Lizton, Indiana.

Part of her bio for the Extra Elite 100 read: “Top Power 5 schools have known about Audrey for a long time and she has already been invited to many elite camps. She’s been so good so long that, if the early recruiting rules hadn’t changed in 2018 the Midwest talent would have likely had dozens of offers by know.”

“She’s a great young lady with an incredibly balanced temperament,” Beverly Bandits coach Bill Conroy said. “Nothing phases her. She’s a crafty lefty with traffic lights. Audrey’s been on the rise with her drop and nasty change-up and has a curveball and screwball, too, but really of her pitches, the one that I love best is her prize drop. The curve ends up being a very nasty pitch against left-handed hitters also.”

Gabi Comia says of Audrey: “blessed to call her my sister.”

Lowry won a PGF 1OU Premier National Championship in 2016 with Tennessee Mojo 2023-Danley in 2016 and she helped the Beverly Bandits place third at the PGF 16U Premier Nationals this past summer.

“Audrey is a great teammate and friend,” said Bandits 3B/OF Addie DeLong, #11 in the 2024 Extra Elite 100. “She is a fierce competitor that works extremely hard. Her composure on the mound is what makes her unique. She makes everyone around her want to be the best they can be.”

Lowry has established herself as one of the premier pitchers in the country, but she’s proved to be lethal with her bat as well.

“Audrey is a great teammate, to be able to play behind her and watch her work her magic gives the team more confidence that we are going to win that game,” said Bandits MIF Gabi Comia, #4 in the 2024 Extra Elite 100.

“Playing behind Audrey and watching her work her craft for all these years has made me realize how much she has grown, and how much I have enjoyed defending for her. It’s a blessing to call her my teammate, but an even bigger blessing to call her my sister.”

Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them?
I’ve been with the Beverly Bandits Organization since 11U, so that is six years now! I’ve really wanted to stick with one team if I could. There are now only three players on the current team since that first year of 11U. We’ve stuck together and the organization has slowly built this team into a nationally recognized team. We’ve been very good the last three seasons and are looking to win a PGF National Championship this coming summer.

What were some of the training methods and workouts you did to stay busy during the stay-at-home orders because of the COVID situation?
COVID really didn’t slow me down much. I’ve always had virtual workout sessions with my pitching and training coaches at home. My workouts are mostly in the garage where I pitch into a net and work on takeoffs or finishing the pitches with my dad. Jonathon Hon from Chicago, and Esia Rivera from Austin, Texas, are my pitching instructors. I have been with both for a while.

The Beverly Bandits 16U team which will be a favorite to win PGF Nationals next Summer.

What is something you have faced in your life that has helped you become the person that you are today?
Having Bill Conroy become our head coach last fall. It was a huge transition for me personally. Coach Conroy is a person who demands greatness and pushes you to be the best you can be without making excuses. College coaches will expect that same mental toughness. He has taught me to be the best. You must be mentally and physically strong to overcome adversity and be consistent.

What’s your most memorable softball story?
Winning a PGF National Championship in 10U with the TN Mojo–Danley team. That was the start of my dream to win another one with the Beverly Bandits and this team I’ve been a part of for so long.

What’s something that people would be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a country girl. I love to go fishing and, yes, I bait my own hook and take my own fish off the hook.
