Abreya Perry, a 2026 outfielder with the Aces organization, is on the radar of many top Power 5 programs.

Last Friday, Extra Inning Softball unveiled the 2026 Extra Elite 100 Top 10 and one surprise to some was the high placement of standout speedster Abreya Perry, an incoming sophomore from Kansas.

In her bio, here’s what was written about the rising star from the Sunflower State:

2—Abreya Perry, OF/MIF, Aces Fastpitch 16U – Taylor
Abreya is new to the Aces after having moved over from the Wichita Mustangs this Spring after former Head Coach Mark Griggs retired. He calls her the “very, very last Mustang” and that’s quite the honor as she has exploded onto the national scene thanks to her speed and explosive all-around athleticism. Abreya has always been a middle infielder because of that athleticism but was transitioned to the outfield thanks to her superb tools in the grass. Abreya impacts the game on offense as well as she can bunt, slap and hit for power. “Her ability to read defenses and take extra bags is impressive,” says her current coaches, Ryan and Taylor Taylor. Look for Abreya to work into the top of the 16U Aces lineup and help set the table. As a Freshman, she helped her Class 5A Valley Center (Kan.) High team earn a second straight state championship this season. Coach Taylor Taylor concludes: “As Abreya is pushed and continues to play at a high level, the sky is the limit for her.”

Now on the radar of many—if not most—of the top Power 5 programs, we recently caught up with the talented player to learn more about her on and off the softball fields.

Here’s what she had to say…

In your eyes, what are some of the top honors and accomplishments you’ve achieved individually and with your teams?
I think my biggest accomplishment was when I was able to go to the USA All American Games. My biggest team accomplishment was winning USA Gold Nationals with my last travel ball team the Wichita Mustangs.

What’s been your most memorable softball experience?
The most memorable experience is when I first got on the Mustang bus with all the girls, it was an amazing experience to go through as an 8th grader!

What would you say are your strengths on the field?
My strengths are probably my range in the outfield and my speed on the bases. I think I have pretty good power too.

Have you set personal goals for yourself for this year?
The biggest thing that I wanted to get better at is not being afraid of running into the fence. It would be cool to rob a home run.!

Do you have any softball superstitions?
Whenever I or someone else hits a foul ball, I have to tighten my batting gloves.

What would you say is your philosophy in life?
Competitiveness should be on and off the field.

If you had to describe yourself in one word, what would it be on-field? Off the field?
On the field I would say “focused.” Off the field, I would say I am very “social.”

What worries you most about what classmates your age are facing in the future?
Making decisions now that could change your future.

If you won a million dollars and had to spend it all in 24 hours, how would you spend it?
I would travel to Hawaii and go scuba diving by coral reefs. I would also redo my room and buy all new clothes and shoes. Then I would go to the mall and spend the rest.

What’s been your favorite vacation or place you’ve visited?
West Palm Beach, Florida.

What’s been your favorite place you’ve placed softball?
Hall of Fame Stadium .

What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve had to overcome in life?
Going from 14U to 18U USA Gold Nationals the same weekend.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what’s the one thing you’d want to have with you (sorry: can’t be a phone as they’re no cell towers nearby!)
A fishing pole.

If you could have dinner with anyone… living or dead… who would it be?
I would talk to Tallen Edwards and ask what it is like playing at Oklahoma State as a young freshman.

Finally, what’s one thing or accomplishment about you that is unusual or unique which few know (until know)?
In middle school I ran track and had a 100-meter time that was ranked in the top 15 in the nation that year at 12.31.
