Extra Star Power: UCLA Signed Pitcher Taylor Tinsley… Extra Elite 100 Top Senior is a Great Talent & Great Teammate

Georgia Impact Premier-Lewis is always one of premier 18U teams in the nation and always a threat to win any major national event.

UCLA-bound right-hander Taylor Tinsley is a major reason why.

Tinsley, #2 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100, has been delivering for Georgia Impact since her freshman season.

Taylor Pannell

Tennessee-bound 3B/SS Taylor Pannell, #4 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100, believes Tinsley’s grit and determination separates her from other players.

“Taylor Tinsley is truly a competitor and will do whatever it takes to help her team win,” Pannell said. “I’ve only played with her one year and with that year I’ve never seen a pitcher work so hard on the field and off the field to help her team. Playing behind Taylor is fun because she always tries to win the at-bat and she trust her defense to make plays. She knows she can trust the defense behind her and she picks up the defense when we make mistakes.”

Ole Miss-bound OF/MIF Taylor Malvin, ranked as a Top 70 outfielder, said Tinsley is a great teammate.

“Taylor Tinsley is hands down the best teammate and player I have ever played with,” Malvin said. “When Taylor is in the field as a player behind her, it’s a breath of fresh air of confidence and you know she will give it her all at all times. Taylor is a fireball as a pitcher, she has emotion and such a passion for the game. What makes Taylor unique is that her passion for the game and love for it will never go unnoticed. Taylor is a strong leader on our team and will always have all of our back and be our biggest cheerleader no matter what.”

Jadyn Goodwin

Georgia Impact UT Jaydyn Goodwin, #9 in the 2022 Extra Elite 100, has won two PGF national titles, so she knows what a good teammate is and she believes Tinsley embodies those qualities.

“Taylor Tinsley is one of the best players and teammates I have played with,” Goodwin said. “Playing with her and being around her, you can just feed off her energy and love for the game. She makes the game fun and you can just see the confidence she has in her teammates. What I love about Taylor is how competitive she is, she’s always gonna give you her all and she always wants to win. She works just as hard if not harder than anyone I’ve seen. I’m so excited to be able to end my travel ball career with her by my side.”

Tell us about being with the Georgia Impact and how you became involved with them…
I picked up with Patrick’s team the summer of 2019 in a tournament and performed very well so that I began playing with his team fully in the fall of 2019. It was very exciting knowing that I was going to get a chance to play alongside all these future collegiate athletes.

The Georgia Impact Premier 18U team coached by Patrick Lewis.

What were some of the training methods and workouts you did to stay busy during the stay-at-home orders because of the COVID situation?
I had many Zoom pitching lessons with my pitching coach (Lacey Ingram) in my basement as well as working out in my at-home gym. It was mentally draining to stay focused and have the motivation to work out in my basement, but keeping my mind set on all the opportunity that was to come my way kept me motivated.
