Faces of Hope: This Weekend, We Are Christmas Shopping for a Boise Family in Need … & Hoping You Can Help Them, Too
December 10, 2021
The Faces of Hope Victim Center in Boise, Idaho, helps those going through tough times including a mom and her three daughters (ages 15, 10 and 6) that the Eads family will be shopping for this weekend… and hoping you can help them too!
This post has nothing to do with softball… but everything about helping those who are— hopefully for just a few innings—behind in the game of life.
As you may or may not know, my wife, Bonnie Eads, works with us at Extra Inning Softball in Customer Service, Biz Dev and Marketing (perhaps you’ve interacted with her!).
In the last few days, Bonnie posted this note on her Facebook page and I feel so strongly about it too I wanted to share with you, the softball community:
The Faces of Hope center is low on needed supplies for those in need in the Boise, Idaho area including one family of four.
This week I had the opportunity to tour Faces of Hope Victim Center located in Boise, Idaho. On average, they assist around 300 individuals a year. The center is short on supplies, especially with the holidays approaching.
Many victims are seen with only the clothes on their back. Many of them have been beaten and/or sexually assaulted so they need a fresh pair of clothing.
Faces of Hope aims to help victims gain a sense of worth by providing them with one set of clothing that is still new with price tags attached.
It was humbling to learn that they (Faces of Hope) only have 3 coats left and 3 tubes of toothpaste.
I was asked by the center to help provide Christmas for a single mom and her three girls: ages 15, 10 & 6. They not only need a vacuum and clothing, but I have a specific list of their need and wish items.
I know if we could all do a little it will make a huge difference in the lives of many individuals this Christmas.
— Bonnie
Last night, Bonnie posted this message on her Facebook page and and I did too, seeing this as a great opportunity to help others. Already, we have been very touched by the initial generosity and kindness of those who responded. We are so, so grateful to those early donators such as Bobbi Cox, Duke Cooper, Cathy Geyer and several others who will help make this Christmas a much brighter one for this family of four!
If anyone else would like to help them too, you can Venmo money to Bonnie (see info below) and, as she told me: “If anyone can donate to my Venmo, I will be sure to send them a photo of the items we purchase.
Here’s Bonnie’s Venmo if you want to donate any amount to help this mother and her daughters:
Below is the wish list of the family based on what Faces of Hope provided for us; tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 11), Bonnie and I will take our four sons with us and start shopping to get what we can for this mom and her three daughters… and to show our boys that Christmas and the Holiday season isn’t just about receiving–it’s most importantly about giving and helping others.
We very much want this to be a special Holiday season for this family despite their hardships leading up to Christmas Day, in just two weeks.
Again, if you are in a position to help and would like to make a donation—be it small or large—we promise you that every penny will be spent to help this family and we will let you know what your money provided them.
Finally, here is a video of the Faces of Hope and what it does to help those going through tough times:

Thanks to everyone and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
