Welcome to Faith Friday, the weekly digital series from Extra Inning Softball that highlights the purpose behind the player. As we continue shifting toward on-the-go, faith-driven content, Faith Friday offers encouragement, reflection, and bold conversations that remind us who we play for—on and off the field. Join Now!

This week, Faith Friday shines the spotlight on Faith Mayfield, a Class of 2028 pitcher for Blaze United 16U and student at O’Connor High School, as she reflects on Jeremiah 17:7:

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.”

Faith shares how this verse reminds her to remain steady and strong through pressure and uncertainty. Like the trees planted along a riverbank with deep roots that never run dry, she has learned to draw strength from the One who is always faithful—on the mound, in the classroom, and in life.

Her journey is a testament to finding peace in preparation and confidence in God’s plan, no matter the outcome. Whether she’s facing a batter in a tight game or navigating challenges off the field, Faith leans on the truth that her roots run deep in His unwavering support.

Let this be your encouragement today: Your source never runs dry when you stay connected to the living water.
