The Myakka City River Mocs have announced the addition of Morgan Howe as assistant coach for the summer 2021 season. Howe will be joining 2nd year head coach, Michaela Transue, to lead the Mocs who were 2020 season champions.
Howe originally attended Fresno State and after two years, transferred to Arizona State to play under her former coaching staff. She graduated from Arizona State in 2019 with a degree in criminology and criminal justice.
She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in sport management with a specialization in athlete development at the University of Florida and intends to graduate in the Spring of 2021. Howe signed with the NPF Affiliate team California Commotion in the Spring of 2020 and participated with Athlete’s Unlimited in their first inaugural season in the Fall of 2020.
“I’m very excited to have Morgan on staff as she brings some knowledge and experience that the athletes can learn from, being a former Pac-12 All-American herself,” said Coach Transue. “I’m excited to bounce ideas and gain knowledge from her as well. With the talent level increasing this summer, it will be nice to have a high-level and experienced player on the coaching side. I’m so ready to get going!”
Howe will also be participating on FGCL’s Team Florida, which will be competing in Spain at the Valencia Cup in May.
“I’m really excited to coach in the FGCL this summer,” Coach Howe stated. “I know it’s a league that started last summer and turned out to be a real opportunity for growth for the young women still playing out their collegiate careers.”

The River Mocs will open their season Wednesday, June 16.
