*****
On November 22nd, I committed to the University of Southern Mississippi and could not be happier. The campus is beautiful and, more importantly, I felt at home the second I got there.
The coaches welcomed me with open arms, and I could tell they cared about me athletically, but also as a human being.
Why did I choose Southern Miss? Because everything felt right.

The coaching staff made it clear to me that they valued me as a player, discussed what I would bring to the program, and would give me the opportunity to compete, and that work starts now.
On my visit, we toured the campus, tried on uniforms, and my personal favorite was going to Starbucks!
When I had the uniform on, that was when it hit me: this is the place I want to be.
The feeling was unlike anything I have experienced. However, I wanted to be open minded and attend the other opportunities that were presented to me. All of them had things that were amazing and I really liked. I am truly appreciative to all the coaches that showed interest in me.
After my last visit, my decision was down to two, it was much harder than I thought it would be, but I know I made the right choice.
The main concept that I wanted to discuss for athletes, who will go through and are still going through the recruiting process, is do not fall into the pressure of what other people think you should do.
Go to a school where they value you both as an athlete and person. Go where you are wanted. That is the biggest piece of advice I could possibly give.
Do not be afraid to follow your heart because you are worried about what people will think. In the end, their opinion does not matter, your happiness does.
