Mia Galella, a 1B/OF/power hitter for PA Outlaws National who is #17 in the 2025 Extra Elite 100, will be blogging about her softball adventures for Extra Inning Softball this season.
In her Extra Elite 100 we wrote that “Mia is one of the hardest working players in her class and also one of the strongest. She has an exit velocity measured at 77 mph and has on video hit 12 balls in a row over a 200-foot fence during practice.”
“Mia isn’t just a big bopper, she has been timed in home-to-first with a 3.04 second mark and is looking to go sub-3.0. From Moscow, Pennsylvania, she’s 5-foot-9 and hit .760- at TCS Nationals last August in Myrtle Beach.”

We also profiled her in an Extra Star Power article published in March titled: 2025 Power Hitter Mia Galella Has “Freakish Power” & Runs Well Too!
Galella was invited to USSSA Select 30 National Camp from Jan. 15-18 at USSSA Space Coast Complex in Florida and she ended up getting named to the Select 30 2025 All-American Team.
*****

Recently, I attended the USSSA Select 30 All-American Games at Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida. From the moment I stepped out of the airplane, I knew it was going to be an awesome weekend.
On Day 1, we had registration. Everyone got a swag bag with a S30 visor and a few other cool things. After I got registered, I went to the Fastpitch Stadium for The Battle of the Bats. While in line, I met Giovanna (Gigi) Khoury, who plays for Florida Gold 16U. She actually ended up being on my S30 team. She is an amazing player and she made the final play of the S30 game!
All the players were able to test out Easton bats and we just hit for fun! Afterwards, all the players and parents gathered in the stands to hear a chalk talk given by the one and only Lauren Chamberlain, who just so happens to be my softball idol!
Later on, we got separated into our teams and we had team bonding. All the girls were so awesome and so much fun. The teams were challenged to do a TikTok. We did a dance to the song “Corvette.” It was hysterical!

On Day 2, the camp officially began. Everyone arrived at 8:00 in the morning for their evaluations. We had to run 20 40 for times, run 5 10 5, overhand throw velocity, bat exit velocity, broad jump and how far you could throw a medicine ball. Everyone did really well and you could tell everyone was an athlete.

After evaluations, we had speed and agility. We did some ladders, jumps and running. Everyone got a chalk talk after. It was given by former Pride players. They told us all about college, recruiting and high school since everyone in my group, including myself, are only in 8th graders.
After lunch, we did infield and outfield drills. We then went to the hitting practice. I could not believe how much talent there was. There were bombs being hit all over the place! All the teams met up later and had one game. My team ended up winning 7-0!
On Day 3, we started off the day with two games and then we then had the classroom portion of the camp which consisted of hitting video, social media and recruiting. Once we completed that, we went to speed and agility. That was a blast! We were taught by Pride players that have been playing professionally for years.

On Day 4, we had one game, which we won, going 4-0 in regular play. Erin Harrelson (Georgia Impact-Sullivan), Timber Hensley (07 Texas Glory) and Carly Holman (American Freedom Gold 2K25) were our pitchers and they did an amazing job. They only gave up a total of two runs in four games! After this game is when the USSSA Select 30 All-American players were chosen for each age group. Our group was consisted of 2025s and was broken into two rosters of fifteen players.
Our Select 30 All-American game was like a boxing match. It went back and forth throughout the entire game since both teams were stacked from the top on down. Our team (Team Red) ended up winning the game 10-9. The prize given to us was customized Marucci gloves. All of us players were so thankful to be awarded such an awesome prize.
All my teammates on Team Red listed below are all truly amazing athletes. Our pitchers on our team were Erin Harrelson, Timber Hensley and Marlee Gaskell (Virginia Unity 2025). They are three pitchers that are amongst the best that I have seen to date. I made so many friends and had such an awesome experience at the S30. There is nothing better I enjoy than being around true athletes that have the same aspirations as I do. I hope to see my softball sisters again on the dirt soon!

Congratulations to the top 30 players in each grad class from the Select 30 National Training Camp. This was a great event with amazing talent, everyone who participated should be proud of their accomplishments. pic.twitter.com/3U3eXNLKnu
