Rising Star Influencer and Extra Impact Ambassador, Isabella Petersen may still be in the early chapters of her softball journey, but she’s already thinking like a veteran of the game.

A Class of 2031 standout from Illinois and member of our 12U Midwest Rising Stars Watch List, Petersen competes for Lombard Thunder Fastpitch with heart, focus, and maturity beyond her years.

In this special feature, Isabella reflects on a question every young athlete eventually faces:
“What Makes a Great Coach?”

Drawing from her own experiences in travel ball, she highlights the qualities—on and off the field—that turn ordinary coaches into extraordinary leaders, and explains how those coaches have helped shape not just her skills, but her love for the game.
