For the second time in Kayla Braud’s life, the lure of Alabama proved too tough to turn down.
The decision to leave her Oregon home behind was easy the first time. She craved the challenge of playing for Patrick Murphy.
The second time, the decision also impacted two very important people in her life – her husband, David, and 2-year-old daughter, Dylan.
On Sept. 12, Braud was announced as the new assistant coach at Alabama, walking away from a successful decade-long broadcasting career with ESPN.
“The decision wasn’t easy. It was probably the hardest decision to get out of broadcasting,” said Braud, who was advised by a University of Alabama counselor not to follow her heart and switch her major to Broadcasting.
