As part of our Ambassador Program, each participant, including Kayla Strong, was encouraged to write an article to be featured on our website. Throughout the program, we focused on our core values: empowering, inspiring, and supporting the softball community. To embody this mission, the ambassadors were tasked with selecting an advocacy topic they felt passionate about.
They were encouraged to dive deep into their chosen subject by interviewing experts, conducting research, and speaking with softball players to gain valuable insights. This project allowed the ambassadors to raise awareness, spark meaningful conversations, and discover ways to support individuals within their chosen area of focus—showcasing their dedication to making a positive impact in the softball world.
Strong chose to write about the importance of faith and mental resilience in softball. In her article, Strong shares how her unwavering belief in Jesus Christ has helped her navigate the challenges and setbacks that come with being an athlete. She emphasizes how faith has provided her with a strong foundation and a sense of purpose, especially during difficult times. Drawing from personal experience, Strong discusses how stretching beyond the boundaries of the sport and trusting in something greater than herself has allowed her to remain grounded, even when overwhelmed by pressure.
With a powerful message of love, perseverance, and hope, Strong encourages others to embrace their identity beyond the game, reminding them that they are valued and loved regardless of their performance. Through her writing, she shows that confidence and peace can be found in faith, creating a reminder that mental resilience is just as important as physical strength in sports.
