LOS ANGELES – The UCLA softball program, and head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez, announced the schedule for the upcoming 2024 season which features 50 games overall and 19 home contests at Easton Stadium.
For the second year in a row, the Bruins open the season against Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Easton Stadium at 7 p.m. (PT) to begin the 20th annual Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament. UCLA welcomes Texas and Oklahoma State – two teams who finished in the top 15 of the final 2023 NFCA Poll – to Easton Stadium for opening weekend. The Bruins play the Longhorns in a night cap on Friday, Feb. 9 and Oklahoma State two days later on Feb. 11 at 1 p.m.
Eighteen of UCLA’s 24 Pac-12 Conference contests will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks. ESPN broadcast selections will be announced at a later date.
The Bruins’ home schedule is headlined by four series against Pac-12 foes, including three who made the NCAA Tournament last season in Utah (March 8-10), Oregon (March 28-30) and California (April 12-14). UCLA closes its regular-season home slate versus longtime rival Arizona (April 26-28), which will mark the final meetings between the two squads as Pac-12 members.
For conference contests on the road, UCLA will face Washington (March 22-24), Oregon State (April 5-7), Stanford (April 19-21) and Arizona State (May 3-5). The Bruins will return to Smith Family Field at Stanford for the Pac-12 Softball Tournament scheduled to take place May 10-13.
The Bruins boast a strong preseason slate of competition highlighted by six teams who advanced to the Super Regional round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
After opening weekend, the Bruins make their return to Florida for a fourth straight year to compete at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational where all five of UCLA’s games will be televised by the ESPN Family of Networks (Feb. 16-18). UCLA will face Florida State, Georgia and Tennessee in its first three challenges at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.
The following week, the Bruins will compete at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic at Big League Dreams Sports Park in Cathedral City, Calif. (Feb. 23-25). Marquee matchups include Nebraska, Northwestern and a rematch versus the Volunteers.
UCLA closes its non-conference schedule at the Judi Garman Classic at Anderson Family Field in Fullerton, Calif. (March 1-3). The Bruins square off against future Big Ten Conference foe Michigan and Florida on the first day of action.
