Welcome to Madness Monday, our digital deep dive where we skip the softballs and go straight for the big questions dividing the fastpitch world. From dugout debates to social media threads, these are the conversations that get people talking—and we’re bringing them to you every week. Join Now!

This week’s question: Should parents be involved in emails and/or social media to college coaches?

It’s a delicate dance in the recruiting process—how much should parents help, and when should they step back? We asked you in our Dugout Discussion Polls, and here’s what you said:

  • Yes—it’s a team effort: 5.56%

  • No—athlete should take the lead: 16.67%

  • Only behind the scenes: 77.78%

The overwhelming majority believe parents should be a quiet force in the background, guiding rather than leading. But there’s no one-size-fits-all answer—every athlete, family, and recruiting journey is different.

Join Katie Lively and Jayden Mount as they unpack both sides of this conversation, explore where boundaries help or hurt, and share insight on how families can strike the right balance.

This is where the madness starts.
