Midwest Select Showcase: Tournament Performance Rankings Results

On April 19, 2026, Extra Inning Softball unveiled a groundbreaking initiative designed to increase athlete exposure while bringing objective, real-time performance evaluation to tournaments across the country. Today, that vision takes another major step forward.

Following a highly successful event weekend, the second official Tournament Performance Rankings, presented by Select Showcases and event organizer Mark Skapin, were conducted during the Midwest Select Showcase held June 5-7, 2026, at Lou Berliner Sports Park in Columbus, Ohio.

The Tournament Performance Rankings were created to recognize outstanding individual performances while providing athletes with additional national exposure through verified event-based evaluations.

Using Extra Inning Softball’s proprietary ranking SERV methodology, athletes were evaluated across offensive production, defensive performance, and position-specific metrics.

Today, Extra Inning Softball proudly unveils the latest Tournament Performance Rankings, featuring Overall Rankings, Position-Specific Rankings, and Hitting Rankings from one of the premier showcase events of the summer.

The results are in. The performances have been verified. Now it’s time to see who rose to the top.

Strong Participation Creates Meaningful Rankings

One of the key goals of the Tournament Performance Rankings initiative is to ensure rankings are built from a strong and representative sample of athlete performances.

Thanks to outstanding participation from teams, parents, and coaches throughout the Midwest Select Showcase, Extra Inning Softball received enough verified submissions to generate rankings across all four primary age divisions: 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U.

The result is a comprehensive leaderboard that highlights top-performing athletes from one of the Midwest’s premier showcase events while providing valuable exposure opportunities for players seeking to gain visibility within the softball community.

The Tournament Performance Rankings leaderboard is completely free to access. To view the results, simply log into the leaderboard platform and select “Midwest Select Showcase” from the event menu.

In addition to the rankings themselves, users can click on any athlete’s photo to view an expanded player profile featuring accomplishments, achievements, and recruiting information submitted by parents and coaches. This added layer of information provides important context beyond statistics and helps showcase the complete athlete.

The feature is especially valuable for college coaches, who can quickly identify standout performers from the event while learning more about each athlete’s accomplishments, experience, and potential fit for their program.

How Tournament Performance Rankings Work

Tournament Performance Rankings are built on a comprehensive evaluation model designed to measure more than just statistics on a scoresheet.

Following each tournament or showcase, coaches and parents can submit athlete statistics for consideration. To ensure accuracy and maintain the integrity of the rankings process, every submission must include a screenshot verifying the athlete’s event statistics.

Each athlete’s performance is evaluated based on her contributions throughout both pool play and bracket play, while also considering net wins, overall team success, individual production, in-game impact, and her team’s final placement within the tournament.

This holistic approach helps identify athletes who not only produce strong numbers but also make meaningful contributions to their team’s success during high-level competition.

Using proprietary software and tested alongside college coaches to refine calculations, this system is designed to reflect how talent is evaluated at the next level.

The result is a credible, performance-based ranking system that enhances athlete visibility on a platform that has generated more than 16.1 million organic impressions over the past year—creating a valuable tool for college coaches tracking emerging talent across regions.
