National High School Player of the Week (April 3, 2024)

The spring high school softball season has officially begun with many states having started the 2024 season in February and March.

Throughout the spring softball season Extra Inning Softball will be recognizing the outstanding achievements of players from across the country.

Nominations for Extra Inning Softball National High School Player of the Week can be submitted HERE.

Beginning on Feb. 14, 2024, Extra Inning Softball will be selecting a National High School Player of the Week every week through May 31, 2024. Nominations will be accepted through Monday each week and nominations should include relevant statistical information for games played during the previous week and photographs.

Extra Inning Softball National High School Player of the Week

After an outstanding week in the circle, Kate Munnerlyn has been selected as the Extra Inning Softball National High School Player of the Week. Robertson plays for Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif.

Munnerlyn helped lead Saint Francis to the co-championship of the Michelle Carew Classic by earning two victories and a save.

She was named the Most Valuable Pitcher of the Michelle Carew Classic following the conclusion of play.

For the week, the Texas A&M-bound lefty pitched 16.0 innings, allowed just three hits, no runs and struck out 29 hitters. She picked up a pair of wins and a save.

Munnerlyn was simply dominant in a 2-0 win over Roosevelt of Eastvale. She went 7.0 innings and allowed just two hits and struck out 17 batters. Through the first five innings of the game, Munnerlyn struck out 13 of 15 hitters and twice registered six consecutive strikeouts.

Her next appearance came in relief against Mission Viejo. With the Lancers clinging to a 1-0 lead, Munnerlyn pitched two scoreless innings in relief to secure the victory for Saint Francis.

Munnerlyn started in the circle in the co-championship game and turned in another brilliant performance.

She allowed only one hit over 7.0 innings pitched and struck out 10 leading the Lancers to a 2-0 win over Canyon.
