The spring high school softball season has officially begun with several states, including Texas, beginning the 2024 season in February.
Throughout the spring softball season Extra Inning Softball will be recognizing the outstanding achievements of players from across the country.
Nominations for Extra Inning Softball National High School Player of the Week can be submitted HERE.
Beginning on Feb. 14, 2024, Extra Inning Softball will be selecting a National High School Player of the Week every week through May 31, 2024. Nominations will be accepted through Monday each week and nominations should include relevant statistical information for games played during the previous week and include photographs.

Extra Inning Softball National High School Player of the Week
After an outstanding week in the at the plate, Lainey Gibson has been selected as the Extra Inning Softball National High School Player of the Week. Gibson plays for Lubbock Cooper Liberty High School in Lubbock, Texas.
Gibson had a strong start to the season as she went 5-for-6 at the plate and batted .833 in three games for Lubbock Cooper Liberty.
She had two triples, two doubles and a single in the three contests. Gibson had an .875 on-base percentage and a 2.708 OPS.
Gibson is a three-sport star at Lubbock Cooper Liberty and also competes on the volleyball and track and field teams. She also is a member of the Epic National 2026 club team.
Gibson was selected to compete in the USA Softball High Performance Program National Selection Event and competed for a spot on the 15U team.
She is a 4.00 student and is ranked fifth in her class at Lubbock Cooper Liberty.
