Week six of the college softball season saw the last undefeated team in the nation go down as Ole Miss staged a rally in the late innings to defeat previously unbeaten LSU 5-2 on Sunday in Baton Rouge, La.
With the loss, the Tigers slide into second place in the SEC standings with a 4-1 record but can move into a tie for first place with Texas A&M if LSU is able to claim the series against the Rebels with a victory in the finale on Monday.
Top-ranked Oklahoma remained in first place in the Big 12 standings as the Sooners swept a three-game series from Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. Oklahoma State and Texas are right behind OU as the Cowgirls and Longhorns each sport a 5-1 record in Big 12 play.
Virginia Tech swept Pittsburgh in a three-game series to improve to 9-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference giving the Hokies the top spot in the conference. Duke and Clemson are each 5-1 in ACC play and are tied for second, while Georgia Tech is 7-2 and currently occupies the fourth spot.
Stanford opened Pac-12 Conference play with a three-game sweep of California and the Cardinal share the top spot in the conference with UCLA. The Bruins stepped out of conference last weekend, but return to Pac-12 play this weekend as they visit Washington.
The Big Ten Conference will open conference play this weekend and the top two teams in the standings, Indiana and Penn State, will meet in the marquee matchup of the weekend.

Boston College improved to 17-8 on the season by winning all four games at the Eagle Round Robin. The tournament was headlined by Abby Dunning who threw a no-hitter in the Eagles 5-0 victory over Iona. Dunning went 7.0 innings, walked one and struck out seven in notching her second career no-hitter. With the seven strikeouts, Dunning also eclipsed the 300 career strikeout plateau and improved to 7-4 on the season.
