Rankings News: Perfect Game Softball Debuts List of 2024 Top 50 High School Prospects

The Perfect Game Softball rankings launch begins with the Top 50 High School Prospects in the Class of 2024.
Destinee Martinez, PG Softball’s Director of Softball Operations.

Perfect Game Softball—a division of Perfect Game, the world’s largest youth baseball and softball organization—today announced the launch of its annual ranking of the nation’s top fastpitch softball players, beginning with the Top 50 Prospects from the high school Class of 2024.

“Perfect Game Softball is excited to be able to elevate the visibility of young athletes around the country with the creation of our new Top 50 Prospects lists,” said Perfect Game Director of Softball Operations, Destinee Martinez.

“Perfect Game has long been committed to providing opportunities – playing and non-playing – for young athletes to pursue their dreams and maximize their true athletic potential; and we’re confident this effort will help advance the careers of the athletes, in particular, and the women’s fastpitch softball movement, in general.”

Perfect Game National Director of Softball Scouting, Jessica Shults, added:

“Since its formal launch in 2021, Perfect Game Softball has been hard at work developing the most comprehensive, inclusive and objective player ranking system available.  We believe we have achieved that goal by having Perfect Game’s own scouts travel across the country to personally watch the athletes compete on a regular basis. We believe this is going to be a win-win situation for young athletes and collegiate programs and result in a system that provides the girls with options that may not have previously been available.”

Rankings Criteria
Jessica Schultz, PG Softball’s Director of Softball Scouting.

Why the 2024 list first?

Perfect Game Softball reps say they are leading with the Top 50 prospects from the Class of 2024 because members of this group are in their junior seasons, which for many high school students is the time when they begin to consider their post-high school academic and athletic opportunities.

The Top 50 Prospects list from the Classes of 2023 and 2025 at later dates.

The PG Top 50’s objective is to highlight each position evenly using a consistent set of offensive, defensive and pitching analytics and to “help ensure fair representation for all positions,” according to Schultz.

“The Perfect Game Softball Top 50 Prospects lists are comprised of five groups of 10 players each, with each group of 10 made up of three pitchers; four infielders; two utility players and one catcher.”

The Perfect Game Class of 2024 Top 50

Leading the Class of ’24, as ranked by a team of Perfect Game scouts attending more than 20 major softball tournaments between November 2021 and August 2022, is Addisen Fisher (right), a righthanded pitcher from Bend, Oregon, who recently committed to attend UCLA in the Fall of 2024.

Fisher, a standout with NW Bullets Campos, is a two-time Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year.  A junior at Bend High School, the Player of the Year for Oregon Sports maintains a four-plus pitch repertoire with a velocity in the 64-67 mph range. Prior to committing to UCLA, Fisher was heavily recruited by many of the Top 25 NCAA women’s softball programs.

Note: the following Top 10 bios were compiled by Perfect Game scouts who saw the players in person…

Addisen Fisher

1. Addisen Fisher (2024, UCLA commit, Bend OR) – RHP
Addisen Fisher the standout RHP for NW Bullets Campos, is ranked first in her class for 2024 Perfect Game Softball Top Prospects, along with many other top scouting services.  The two-time Oregon Gatorade Player of the Year is undoubtedly best in her class for her dominant performance in the circle. As a junior for Bend High School, she already has several titles including Player of the Year for Oregon Sports. As the leader in NW Bullets Campos pitching staff, Fisher is dominant in the circle, throwing hard and fast with impeccable movement in each of her attacks. Fisher is currently pumping out 64-67 mph velocity with a four-plus pitch repertoire that keeps her on top. She recently committed to UCLA.

2. Sa’mya Jones (2024, Pearland TX) – IF
Sa’mya Jones is one of the best all-around athletes in the class and is a game changer in every aspect of the game.  Not only does she hit for power, but she creates havoc on the base path. One of the fastest kids in her class she is constantly creating momentum for her team with her ability to steal bases and stretch doubles I in o triples.  Sa’mya is a fun athlete to watch, because her passion for the game is easily seen by everyone watching.  She will be an immediate impact player wherever she does.

3. Gabi Comia (2024, Cedar Lake IN) – IF
The Cedar Lake native has proven she can not only bounce back from adversity on the field, but has shown throughout the summer why she is one of the best middle infielders in this 2024 class. Utilizing her speed down the line, Gabi is a triple threat in the box. She has the ability to stand in and swing away, but then can utilize her speed and create havoc on the basepath. Gabi can change a game defensively as well. She covers ground efficiently and has a quick first step to the ball. Her quick transfer and her ability to be a leader on the diamond are two other of the big factors that land her on the top of the list for best middle infielders in this class.

4. Jayden Heavener (2024, LSU commit, Pace FL) – P/UT
Jayden has an explosive approach in the batter’s box. She knows how to use her lower half strength to the drive the ball up and out of the ballpark. Jayden uses that strength as well in the circle. She is a force to be reckon with, she has a strong mix of pitches to keep the batters guessing and does a great job of leading her team. Her confidence is contagious throughout her defense, and she will be a great addition to the LSU rotation.

5. Layla Lamar (2024, Florida commit, Cary NC) IF
Layla has been one of the best athletes in the 2024 class for a very long time.  She was committed to the University of Florida before the rule change went into effect. Layla has continued to prove herself, battled back from injuries and continues to be one of the top prospects in the class. The lefty stand in power hitter has some of the quickest hands I have seen. She is a game changer with one swing of the bat and will be making immediate impact when she steps on campus next fall.

Audrey Lowry

6. Audrey Lowry (2024, Oklahoma commit, Lizton IN) P
The lefty stand-out, has been on the radar as one of the top pitchers in the 2024 class. At first glance, it is Audrey’s composure on that mound that draws you in. She is a natural leader on the mound who does not let too much get to her.  Her ability to not only throw her riseball tight in on the hands of right-handed hitters but her ability to mix speeds and showcase her change, is why she is one of the top strike-out pitchers in the country.  Oklahoma is known for having the best LHP’s in the country and she is going to be a great addition to the Oklahoma pitching staff in 2025.

7. Jordan Lynch (2024, Virginia Tech commit, North East MD) IF/UT
Jordan is one of the best two-way athletes in the 2024 class.  She has the ability to not only be a smooth solid foundation in the middle of the infield, but also has the ability to control the defense from behind the dish.  Jordan has a quick transfer at shortstop and behind the plate. The 5-foot-9 lefty also adds absolute power when it comes to her bat in the lineup.  She is a player that can hit to all sides of the field and proved this summer she can clutch up in big moments.

8. Taylor Troutman- (2024, Mississippi State commit, Henderson KY) UT
Taylor is an elite athlete for Top Gun National 18U and is a gifted player as a lefty slugger who generates incredible power behind each of her hits. With a set-and-go explosion through the zone, Taylor has a true feel for the barrel with a level bat path, ending in a beautiful lift that sends the ball to all areas of the field.

9. Sophi Mazzola (Eureka MO) IF
Sophi is an explosive athlete who continues to get better and better. The lengthy stand-in left-handed power hitter had a successful summer at the plate and does a great job identifying pitches out of the hand early and taking advantage of pitches over the plate. She has huge gap-to-gap power and is the player that you want up in clutch situations. Defensively Sophi has the ability to play anywhere on the field with soft hands and does a great job moving to the ball well.

10. Cassie Johnson (2024, Ankeny IA) C
The Iowa native is one of the top catcher/utility players in this class.  The standout right-handed power hitter brings a big bat to the lineup and is a player that does not get cheated in the box.  She has big home run power and is a great force in the box.  Behind the plate, she provides a strong arm and does a great job moving well.  She will be a big impact player at the next level.
