Softball Instruction: RISR’s Four Olympians Will Host a FREE Zoom Webinar On “Creating an Efficient Swing” This Tuesday (March 1, 7:30 pm EST)

After a successful initial Zoom webinar on January 25 that focused on the “Mental Process,” the founders of RISR—softball legends Amanda Chidester, Haylie McCleany, Erika Piancastelli and Janie Reed—will be back for another free session on Tuesday, March 1 at 7:30 pm Eastern.

This second in a series of live teaching sessions is titled “Creating an Efficient Swing” will be more informational, according to Amanda.

“It will focus on hitting and be directed to coaches and parents,” she explains, “as well as players, too, but the key is it’s to help teach those who work with hitters the ‘how’ to have an effective swing so they can take it back to their players and incorporate into practices.”

The Tuesday session will be broken down into four sections with each of the leads covering a different area:

• Erika: defining what is an efficient swing, including sequencing and what makes a complete hitter,
• Janie: cues versus reality (for example, swinging down on the ball vs. hitting the ball squarely or “squishing the bug” vs. using your hips),
• Amanda: the importance of rhythm and timing,
• Haylie: building a confident swing, including practice vs. game mindset.

The four standout players, who competed for the U.S. in last year’s Tokyo Olympic Games, are instructors for RISR™, the fast-growing training program by HitTrax.

Amanda describes the softball instructional enterprise as “what Peleton is for exercise, RISR is for softball,” referencing the popular training and exercise equipment that is internet connected and allows for remote and virtual classes via live streaming.

“RISR is also finalizing a hitting and mental training app which is expected to be launched in mid-March,” the two-time All-American at Michigan adds.
