EXTRA SPOTLIGHT: LAUREN HARDY
Lauren Hardy, a junior P/MIF/OF/UT for Firecrackers SC 16U and Blythewood (South Carolina) High, is a talented player who can run, hit, pitch and field.
She led her high school team to a AAAAA Region 4 title and the SCHSL state tournament in South Carolina as a freshman.

Talk about your high school softball career so far…
I had my first varsity experience in the 7th grade and hit my first varsity in-game home run in the 8th grade. This past high school season, we won our region.
Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? Firecrackers is a national organization.
I was looking for a team with a coach that believed in me and had confidence in me on the mound.

How did your club team do this past summer and in the fall?
We did fairly well considering we had several new players, including myself. We bonded so well throughout the summer and fall.

What should we expect from your club team this summer?
I’m setting some personal goals for myself. I just want to be the best softball player and teammate I can possibly be.
What should we expect from your high school team?
The goal is to win state.
Do you have a secret talent/skill?
I’m very skilled at drawing.
What’s your most memorable softball story?
I don’t have just one story, but I seem to trip and fall at least once each game so I’ve started to keep a compilation of my falls to the song “Clumsy.”
