Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? I joined Choppers-Ashley this fall. It was a smooth transition for me because Coach John Ashley is also my high school coach. He trusts me in the circle. His pitch calling helps set me up for success.

Do you have any suggestions for training methods or apps and why? My suggestion is always go back to the basics. I hit off the tee almost daily. I like to focus on hitting because I want to be more than a pitcher in the game. I also make sure to work on my spins. As a pitcher, the most important for me is spin and movement.
Can you tell us about your experience at (Triple Crown) Nationals this summer? This summer, I was able to play up in 18U for (Triple Crown) Nationals. It was a great experience and I did really well in the circle. My change-up was the highlight that week. I got a lot of batters to chase it. I was able to pitch in six of the seven games we played that week.
What was your favorite fall tournament/event and why? My favorite fall event had to be the Las Vegas showcase. I was so close to a perfect game!! I gave up a single in the 5th inning. The best part was Coach (Chanda) Bell from Indiana was there watching me that game.

Which player/team was your toughest opponent and why? I’d have to say last season (Athletics) Mercado-Hovermale. They usually challenge me to really spin my ball.
What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I am really interested in Sports Psychology. Mental Health is super important for athletes and there should be more awareness on mental health for athletes. I want to be a resource to the future of this sport.
Can you talk about your decision to commit to Indiana? (The) Indiana coaching staff showed interest in me in the beginning of September. We had a wonderful Zoom call and I remember telling my mom I think this is the school. Through fall they continued to show support and show up to my games even when I wasn’t pitching. It was very important to me to find a school that really wanted me and felt like a family atmosphere. When I stepped onto campus this week, I knew it’s where I belonged. The entire team is so welcoming. It just felt like home. I can’t wait to be a Hoosier!!
Who is your sports hero? I don’t really have a sport hero. There are a lot of players I look up to and respect. My dad has always taught me to be original and be myself, so I stick to that in everything in life, including sports.
What’s the best hype song and why? I don’t have a hype song, but one of my favorite songs to listen to that gets me in a good mood is “Good Times Go by Too Fast” by Dylan Scott because the words remind me that I won’t be able to play softball my whole life, so enjoy the moment and have fun.
What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? My favorite show to binge is “The Challenge” because it’s so interesting and shows you how others connect with others during a challenge when money is on the line at the end.
Do you have a secret talent/skill? I’m an athlete, so I feel that’s where all my talent and skills are, lol. I also play basketball and volleyball, although I took this year off to focus on my recruiting. I will probably get back into those sports next year and they I might even add flag football since my school announced they will be adding that sport for female athletes next year!
