PGF INSURANCE AND CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATES FOR COVID-19
With many teams planning to stay home and play in regional events this summer rather than travel the country for major national events due to the coronavirus pandemic, Premier Girls Fastpitch released a partial list of teams on Wednesday that are planning to attend the 2020 PGF Nationals.
Those teams are: Texas Impact Gold, Hotshots Premier, Oklahoma Athletics, PA Chaos, WA Ladyhawks, Oro Valley Suncats, Jersey Intensity, Beverly Bandits, Georgia Impact, Birmingham Thunderbolts, DeMarini Aces, Iowa Premier, Rhode Island Thunder, Lady Lightning Gold, Tampa Mustangs, Carolina Cardinals, NW Bullets, Indiana Magic, Tennessee Mojo, Tennessee Fury, Atlanta Vipers, East Cobb Bullets, Newtown Rock, Arizona Storm, Louisville Lady Sluggers, California Grapettes, LTG Lions, Sorcerer, Universal Fastpitch, AASA, So Cal Athletics, Corona Angels, Athletics-Mercado, OC Batbusters, Firecrackers, So Cal Choppers, Cal Cruisers, Explosion, Ohana Tigers …
How does the PGF Insurance Program address the COVID-19 situation?
“The PGF team insurance policy includes both liability coverage and excess medical coverage,” PGF said in a statement. “There are no exclusions in the liability coverage that pertain to a virus, disease, or health condition. The excess medical policy also contains no exclusions for the COVID-19 virus, however the injury suffered would have to arisen from a softball activity to be covered.”

USA SOFTBALL CANCELS U18 WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM OPEN TRYOUT
With the postponement of the 2020 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup due to the COVID-19 pandemic, USA Softball will be cancelling the U-18 Women’s National Team (WNT) Open Tryout, which was originally scheduled for June 15-16, 2020.
Once new dates for the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup have been released by the WBSC, USA Softball will determine an appropriate timeframe to reschedule the U-18 WNT Open Tryout.

Extra Inning Softball began releasing the Extra Elite Eighty 12U Club Rankings on Monday, April 27, 2020, so we’ll continue to take a look at some of the top teams in the nation.

What will it take for your team to be successful this year?
Everyone buying in to the we over me attitude and playing to our strengths which is speed and defense. Also, following the direction of Tony Holeman, who heads Impact Gold in Mississippi and has tons of experience.
Who is your No. 1 pitcher and can you describe her skills?
Ava Browder is the #1 who has speed, control and spin. Kloie Lovell and Macy Simmons are finesse pitchers who get lots of ground balls and fly outs with off-speed and spin.
Can you describe your offense and what some of the strengths are?
Being a smaller team without a lot of bangers, we thrive off putting pressure on defenses with our speed, which features four slappers with great bat control.
