12U CLUB SCOUTING REPORT

Extra Inning Softball began releasing the Extra Elite Eighty 12U Club Rankings on Monday, April 27, 2020, so we’ll continue to take a look at some of the top teams in the nation.

So let’s take a look at …

CAROLINA CARDINALS 07 NATIONAL

Extra Elite Eighty Ranking: #59
2019 Fall Record: Formerly Alexander Gold, the team won the USFA national title as a first-year 12U team last summer before transitioning to the Carolina Cardinals organization the fall and going 24-9 and finishing first at the PGF Queen City Classic, first at the 14U USA championship and earning an invite to the 2020 PGF Nationals.

The Roster:

  • Alyssa Chapman (2026, SS/CC, and extremely athletic player with will excel at any sport and has every tool of the game. A consistent bat that can also hit for power. Leads the team in hits, runs and SBs. Has a great pop time behind the plate and is very hard to run on)
  • Anstion Chapman (2025, UT, an all-around athlete that can play almost any position on field. A consistent hitter with good swing technique)
  • Kallie Short (2025, C/OF, receives ball well, has a solid arm and controls the defense well. Has a solid bat)
  • Brileigh Matthews (2026, P, a great pitcher that moves ball well. She has good movement and is one of the teams top hitters. She can play multiple positions)
  • Adi Eckard (2026, OF/C, gets a good read on the ball in the outfield. Has good swing technique and is a hard worker that always gives 100 percent)
  • Lexie Setzer (2025, OF/C, a solid outfielder with a strong arm. Has the ability to hit for power)
  • Kyla Hamby (2027 2B/OF, the youngest on the team playing up. Has a high softball IQ. She’s quick to the ball with a solid glove and aggressive on the bases)
  • Laney Wike (2025, P/1B, a power pitcher with tremendous speed on her fastball for her age. Has great movement and can swing a big bat. One of the best pitchers in the 2025 class)
  • Lainey Russell (2026, OF, gets a great jump on the ball, has great range and had the highest batting average on the team in the fall)
  • Kensley Davis (2026, OF, gets a good read on ball and has a lot of pop on her bat. She has a great work ethic and love for the game)
  • Macy Law (2025, 3B/1B/P She has a cannon for an arm, good pop on her bat and can hit for power. She has good control on her pitches and hits spots well)

What will it take for this team to be successful?
We have a great group of student athletes who work hard on and off the field. They have a strong bond that always puts the team first. I am blessed to coach this group.
