Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? I subbed with the Iowa Premier last year in a few tournaments, and I fell in love with the way that the team chemistry was. I love the way that coach (Greg) Dickel expects excellence from his players and holds them at a level that a lot of college players are held at. After I subbed, I shortly joined the team in the middle of the summer last season. The girls treated me great like I was one of their own, and I easily became a big part of the team. I hope to accomplish a lot with this team as my last year playing travel ball.

What are some of your training methods/training routine? I have 5 a.m. workouts 3-4 times a week with Chad Remakel. After that, I’ll go to school and then I’ll go hit and train out at my hitting facility for a few hours. Then I usually do some stretching or yoga to keep my body feeling good. I’ve learned a lot throughout the years about lifting and training, and I think the trainer I have now has installed a lot of knowledge about my body to me, and I think weight training has truly changed the game for me.

What areas are you focusing on/trying to improve this fall? I really want to improve my game and all different types of ways and be the player that my team needs me to be to win a national championship. I want to make sure my skills are ready to compete at the collegiate level.

Can you tell us about your experience at PGF Nationals/Alliance Nationals this summer? I actually wasn’t able to go to nationals this summer due to Covid. I was pretty bummed out about not being able to attend, but hopefully this year we make a good run and come home with the national championship before we all leave for college.

Which player/team was your toughest opponent and why? Before I played for the Iowa Premier, I played for the Heartland Havoc. There was a tournament where we played Teagan Kavan, who is committed to Texas. She completely shut us down and she’s probably one of the best pitchers I’ve ever played against. Now, me and Teagan are teammates and I get to witness her do her thing at all of the tournaments. It’s a very crazy, full-circle moment.

What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I’m interested in studying pediatric nursing with a minor in psychology. I’ve always been really interested in the medical field and I’m taking psychology this year and school and I think it’s very very interesting. I think it’ll be a great thing for me to keep in my life and make a career.

Can you talk about your decision to commit to Washington? Once I stepped on campus to Washington, I absolutely knew it was the place for me. I love the way the coaches and the players had such a bond, and the biggest thing I was looking for in a team was having a family-like structure that made up the team and Washington for sure had that. Coach (Heather) Tarr and the rest of the coaching staff made me feel very welcome and so did all the girls. After my visit, I could very much see me spending my college and career there.

Who is your sports hero and why? My sports hero is probably Michael Jordan, because he defeated all the odds that people made up against him. After him not making as high school basketball team, he worked even harder to be the best. And that just makes me think of how I need to work very hard to be the best at what I do, and that no matter what no one else’s opinion matters.

What’s the best hype song and why? I think the best hype song is “My Way” by Limp Bizit.

What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? My favorite TV show to binge is “Grey’s Anatomy” because I really like the atmosphere of the hospital and the doctors because that’s what I wanna do for my career. Plus, it’s very easy to watch a lot of episodes without even realizing how much time has gone by.

Do you have a secret talent/skill? I was a gymnast for a few years, so I can hold a handstand for a pretty long time and I’m also very flexible.
