The 2019 USA Softball U-19 Women’s National Team (WNT) and coaches have arrived in Spartanburg, South Carolina for the last leg of preparation prior to the team’s quest for a third-straight World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-19 Women’s Softball World Cup title.

The team will hold a training camp at Tyger River Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina from July 18-22 with exhibition games on July 21 and 22.

After stops in Houston, Paris, Dublin, Atlanta and Columbus, Ga., the U.S. will continue their preparation for the 2019 WBSC U-19 Women’s Softball World Cup in Spartanburg with training and exhibition games against prominent Junior Olympic (JO) fast pitch organizations.

On July 21, the U.S. will play the reigning USA Softball 18-Under GOLD National Champion Rock Gold at 5 p.m. followed by a Monday, July 22 matchup against the reigning 18-Under USA Softball JO Cup Champion St. Louis Chaos at 5 p.m. at Tyger River Park.

In addition to the U-19 WNT training camp, the USA Softball JO Cup will also be taking place at Tyger River Park from July 21-26 featuring 14-U, 16-U and 18-U JO fast pitch play. Combined, the nation’s best competition and future of USA Softball will be on display in Spartanburg.

“This week represents another opportunity for us to prepare to be at our best when our best is needed at the World Cup come August and it is a good opportunity to compete in front of the young ladies that are competing at the JO Cup,” said U-19 WNT Head Coach, Heather Tarr (Redmond, Wash./Head Coach at Washington). “We are proud to be here, and we are proud to be involved in this USA Softball event.”

Earlier in the season the team defeated Ireland in the Atlantic Challenge Cup, the first-ever fast pitch event of its kind in Ireland, and finished 3-1 in the 2019 Achille Challenge in France.

After training camp the team will return home before departing for the WBSC U-19 Women’s Softball World Cup in Irvine, Calif. where they will be on their pursuit of a third straight world cup title beginning on August 10.
