Last week, we unveiled the highly anticipated 10U Rising Stars Watchlist, spotlighting the next generation of fastpitch softball talent—discover who’s making waves in the game!

Spotlighting Tomorrow’s Softball Stars

Each athlete on the Southeast 12U Rising Stars Watchlist represents hard work, determination, and raw talent. From dynamic pitchers to powerful hitters and all-around fielders, these players have earned their spot through pure grit. At such a young age, they’re already making waves and setting themselves up as the future leaders of the game.

Why the 12U Watchlist Beats Early Rankings

At Extra Inning Softball, we believe young athletes should be celebrated for their potential, not pressured by premature rankings. That’s why, under the leadership of CEO Bonnie Holland, we’ve replaced rankings for 10U and 12U players with a 12U Watchlist, highlighting emerging talent while supporting healthy development.

Ranking players at this age often raises serious concerns. Parents and coaches should ask: Who is conducting the rankings? Do they have experience in softball, or any women’s sport? How much time is spent evaluating players? Many companies boast a one-week turnaround—too rushed for thorough research. Ties between players are another warning sign, often indicating a lack of an algorithm and revealing money-driven motives.

At Extra Inning Softball, our dedicated committee and proprietary software ensure fairness. Athletes are ranked by position, not grouped together arbitrarily. This thoughtful approach supports players’ growth, focusing on teamwork and love for the game during these critical years.
