The USA HPP National Selection Event is an integral part of USA Softball’s mission to identify, develop, and prepare athletes for future international competition. To advance players toward opportunities within the USA Softball National Team pipeline. Athletes are put to the test through a combination of drills, scrimmages, and competitive gameplay designed to evaluate their skills, adaptability, and performance under pressure. From hitting and fielding to mental toughness, the event offers a holistic assessment of each athlete’s potential.
How the Event is Organized
The event itself is meticulously planned to provide a professional and challenging environment for athletes. Over the course of four days, participants undergo rigorous training sessions, position-specific drills, and live gameplay scenarios. Each day is structured to emphasize not only individual skills but also team play, decision-making, and game IQ. Selectors and coaches meticulously observe every detail—from footwork and bat speed to communication and leadership qualities.
