The USA Softball Women’s National Team will compete for a gold medal at the Pan American Games on Oct. 29-Nov. 4 in Santiago, Chile.
The 16-member Team USA squad, under the direction of head coach Heather Tarr, will look to continue its dominance at the Pan American Games.
Softball was first introduced into the Pan American Games in 1979 with Team USA capturing the gold medal in the initial competition.
Since then, the USA Softball Women’s National Team has captured gold in 1987, 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2019. Team USA won the silver medal in 1983 and 2015.
Team USA will compete in Group A with Mexico, Venezuela and the host Chile. Group B will be comprised of Canada, Cuba, Peru and Puerto Rico.
The team in search of gold medal number 10 will be comprised of Dejah Mulipola (Arizona), Haylie McCleney (Alabama), Amanda Lorenz (Florida), Aubrey Leach (Tennessee), Baylee Klingler (Washington), Janae Jefferson (Texas), Sahvanna Jaquish (LSU), Mia Davidson (Mississippi State), Erin Coffel (Kentucky), Sis Bates (Washington), Aliyah Andrews (LSU), Ali Aguilar (Washington), Kathryn Sandercock (Florida State), Rachel Garcia (UCLA), Montana Fouts (Alabama) and Ally Carda (UCLA).
Tarr will be joined on the Team USA coaching staff by Tony Baldwin (Georgia), Cody Thomson (Utah Valley) and Tim Walton (Florida).
