Video: Sore Back and All, UCLA-Bound Addie Mettler Comes Off Bench in Dramatic Fashion

Addie Mettler, the outstanding 2023 catcher who has signed with UCLA, was resting a sore back last week in Colorado as her Firecrackers – Rico team was in action in the TV Bracket..

However, the club player’s services were needed and she was asked to pinch hit and, well, let’s just say if she’s this good with a tight back, image how great she’ll be when fully healthy!

Here’s the dramatic scenario in the game against a good Impact Gold team:

• The Firecrackers are trailing 4-3,
• Two outs,
• Game time has expired,
• Addie hasn’t played all day because her back has tightened up,
• She’s asked to pinch hit and then this happened (and be sure to watch the classic reaction of the centerfielder!).

Note: the following YouTube clip is less than a minute long but doesn’t have sound…

In nine games in Colorado, Addie was limited to just 21 plate appearances but she did the maximum in that minimal amount of at-bats, hitting .438 with three home runs and 11 RBIs with a slugging percentage of 1.000.

In one game specifically, she was unstoppable as the senior went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and a grand slam to account for eight RBIs… again, in just one game!
