It’s been a nightmare of a week for Jacee Hamlin, the outstanding 2020 Texas Tech signee, and her family as her mother, Dena, passed away in her sleep last Saturday night.
Note: a GoFundMe page has been created, the Love for Dena Memorial Fund, to assist the Hamlin family.
A member of the Impact Gold – Middlebrook team, Jacee made the trip to Oklahoma City for this week’s competition at the Top Club National accompanied by her older sister Taylor.
It was an emotional day, as you’d expect, and family and friends, including other teams such as Texas Glory – Shelton, wore purple bows in their hair to honor the beloved Team Mom, who loved all things in that color.
The first games of the day for the 18U age division starting at 1:30 at the Bouse Sports Complex in Choctaw, Oklahoma and Jacee stepped into the box to begin the game against the Texas Dirt Divas when play was suddenly stopped before the first pitch was thrown.
In this video below, you’ll see why: let’s just say it was an incredibly emotional moment for all at the game—on the field and in the stands.
Here’s the touching moment where the Impact Gold team showed their love for their teammate…
