In the spring, we named Teagan Thrunk, a talented infielder from New Jersey and member of Intensity National coached by Brittany O’Donnell, to the 2022 Extra Elite 100 player rankings.
In her bio write-up, we said:
Teagan is described by coaches as one of the hardest working athletes you’ll come across and a great teammate who is always supporting and cheering on her fellow softball sisters. At shortstop, she makes what her coach, Brittany O’Donnell, calls “imaginative plays that simply wow the fans in the stands” and guns runners out with an overhand throw of 64 mph. She’s a .300-plus hitter and last spring batted .413 with a .492 on-base percentage for the Intensity. She’s a high academic prospect who attends Point Pleasant Boro (New Jersey) and is being followed by top schools across the country.
Last week, Teagan committed to the Hokies of Virginia Tech and in our latest profile spotlight, we learn more about the shortstop on and off the field!

What does it mean to you to be considered as one of the top 100 players in your class?
I am extremely thankful to be considered as one of the top 100 players in the class of 2022 because it means that all of my hard work is paying off. I love to see how proud my parents and coaches are of the things I have achieved because they have done so much for me.
Looking back on your experiences so far, both club and high school, what’s been your favorite both on and off the softball field?
Both on and off the field in high school softball, my favorite experience would have to be that I’m surrounded by the girls I’ve grown up with and known for more than a decade. My favorite experience in club softball on the field was playing at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium. Off the field for club softball, my favorite experiences include having fun in airports around the country with my teammates.
What would you say are your strengths as a player (and/or what do coaches say they liked about your game?)
Some of my strengths as a player include my hustle (on and off the field) and my aggressiveness at the plate. Coaches also say they like my ability to perform in high-pressure situations.

Have you set personal goals for yourself for this year? Or in general?
Some personal goals I have set for myself this year include to get straight A’s in school and improve some of my measurables in softball such as overhand and exit velocity. Other goals I have set for myself that go beyond this year include being close with my family forever.
