Extra Inning Softball announced today the dates of publication for the list of the top 100 players in the Class of 2021 as part of the next installment in the prestigious Extra Elite 100 series.
Note: there is a tight timetable to submit info (due by Wed., Oct. 14; in a week and a half) as the information needs to be compiled, published and also sent to colleges for use in their Signing Period releases which begin Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020.
The extensive coverage, including player bios and photos, of the 2021 Class will start Monday, Oct. 19, 2020 and wrap up with the #1 overall prospect to be announced on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020.
The following week—Nov. 2-to-8—will feature the following:
- the players ranked #’s 101-500,
- a spotlight on the top player in the class,
- position rankings (pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders)
- the top college classes
This follows the previous Extra Elite 100 rankings published over the last year for the Classes of 2020, ’21, ’22, ’23, ’24 and ’25 with the 2024 Extra Elite 100 rankings being the most recently published (Oct., 2020).
The rankings are led by Brentt Eads, Extra Inning Softball’s President & Executive Editor, along with the Extra Inning Softball staff with input from more than 250 college and club scouts and coaches.
Eads, who originated the top 100 rankings lists used in softball, will now have ranked more than a decade of grad classes (2014 to 2025) and updated them 32 times.
For those interested, the next set of rankings after the 2021’s will be the initial 2026 Extra Elite 100!

If you would like to submit a nomination, include any or all of the following: player stats, honors, individual and team accomplishments, recruiting news (campus visits, camps, favorite colleges, etc.), human interest insights, a head shot and, if available, a good action photo.
Forward the info to: info@extrainningsoftball.com by 5 pm EST on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020 to ensure consideration before the lists are finalized.
Nomination, including scouting reports/evaluations, should be submitted by coaches; however, emails sent by players and/or their families will be stored for bio compilations and potential stories.
