This week, Extra Inning Softball unveiled the Class of 2028 All-Region Rankings by Position, spotlighting the nation’s top talent across every corner of the country. Each day featured a new region, celebrating the athletes redefining the future of fastpitch. Stay tuned as we continue to showcase the next generation of stars!

Regional Lineup Release Dates

• Northeast [purple]: October 6
• Southeast [orange] October 7
• Midwest [yellow] October 8
• Southwest [dark blue] October 9
• Mountain[green] October 10
• West [light blue] October 11

• Elite Scholar Honor Roll: GPA of 4.0 and above

• Extra Select Honor Roll: GPA between 3.75–3.99

• Distinguished Prospect Honor Roll: GPA between 3.5–3.74

These rankings are the result of several weeks of preparation and countless long hours spent by our Extra Inning Softball staff. Each list requires careful evaluation, in-depth research, and a commitment to fairness so that every athlete recognized is celebrated properly.

National Rankings: Top 100 by Position

The Class of 2028 Extra Elite 100 will be released in four primary categories: Pitchers, Catchers, Infielders, and Outfielders.

• Oct. 13–22: Extra Elite 100 (#100–6)

• Oct. 23–26: People’s Choice Vote – Top 5 Fan Picks

• Oct. 27: Fastpitch Fan Pick Top 5

• Oct. 28: Extra Elite 100 Top 5

National Rankings: Extra Selects & Prospects

The Class of 2028 rankings continue with two national lists: the Extra Select Athletes (Ranked 101–200) and the Extra Prospect Athletes (Ranked 201–300). Both will be unveiled by position, highlighting the depth of talent across pitchers, catchers, infielders, and outfielders.

Extra Select Rankings:

• Oct 23 – Pitchers (101–200)

• Oct 24 – Catchers (101–200)

• Oct 25 – Infielders (101–200)

• Oct 26 – Outfielders (101–200)

Extra Prospect Rankings:

• Oct 28 – Pitchers (201–300)

• Oct 29 – Catchers (201–300)
