Welcome to Madness Monday, our digital deep dive where we skip the softballs and go straight for the big questions dividing the fastpitch world. From dugout debates to social media threads, these are the conversations that get people talking—and we’re bringing them to you every week.
This week’s question: Should travel ball tournaments have time restrictions on first and last games?

The results are in from our Dugout Discussion Polls:
Yes — 8 AM and 10 PM games are too much: 84.44%
No — That’s the grind we signed up for: 15.56%
The majority has spoken—most athletes, parents, and coaches believe early mornings and late nights push the limits too far. But does trimming those game times make travel ball more manageable—or take away from the grit and grind that define the sport?
For the minority, the challenge of unpredictable hours is part of what makes travel ball unique. For others, the cost on performance, safety, and recovery is too high to ignore.
Join Jayden Mount and Laina Holmgren as they dig into both sides—exploring whether game time restrictions could improve the experience for athletes or if the long days are simply part of the journey.
This is where the madness starts.
