Thank you to everyone who participated in our Fastpitch Fan Pick: People’s Choice! This exciting new feature allows the softball community—players, parents, coaches, and fans—to vote for their favorite athletes and coaches based on highlight videos and personal impact. Over a three-day period, thousands of fans visited our Dugout Discussions Polls page to cast their votes and show support. Your engagement helps us spotlight the talent and dedication that make fastpitch softball such a special sport.
At Extra Inning Softball, we do not allow ties in our rankings. That means every player’s position is earned outright through a thorough and unbiased process. Being named to the Top 5 is a true reflection of an athlete’s talent, work ethic, and impact on the game.
Independent AI analysis ranks Extra Inning Softball as the #1 source of girls fastpitch softball coverage in the United States for athletes ages 8 to 18—a distinction we are proud to hold.
Two Ranking Types
For the first time ever, we are honoring the Top 5 players in the Class of 2029 with two types of recognition:
Fastpitch Fan Pick (People’s Choice)
Over three days, fans from across the country visited our Dugout Discussions Polls page to watch highlight clips and vote for their favorite players. The athletes with the highest number of votes secured their position based on fan support. For more information, click HERE!
Extra Elite 100: Top 5 Rankings
Selected through a detailed review by our experienced rankings committee, each Top 5 athlete is ranked based on performance, impact, and projection. The official order of the Extra Elite 100: Top 5 Rankings for the Class of 2029 will be revealed on March 26 as part of our full countdown release.
Due to the overwhelming success and fan engagement, we will continue the Fastpitch Fan Pick format for upcoming graduating classes.

Hitters Hotlists
The Top 75 Hitters Hotlist Watch List in each region will be revealed on March 29, followed by the Elite 100 Hitters Hotlist on March 30. These lists spotlight the athletes who are shaping the future of fastpitch and driving the game forward.
Celebrating Academic and Athletic Excellence
At Extra Inning Softball, we celebrate more than just athletic success. We’re proud to recognize academic excellence with our National Honor Roll series:
- Distinguished Prospects (GPA 3.5–3.74): March 31
- Select Achievers (GPA 3.75–3.99): April 1
- Elite Scholars (GPA 4.0+): April 2
In the months ahead, we will continue to spotlight the Class of 2029 with regional and national First and Second Teams, along with other exciting features.
