Breaking News: Winners Crowned at the 2019 TC/USA Nationals in Atlanta

We have our winners in the Championship Bracket at the 2019 TC/USA Nationals and, if you read our predictions earlier today, you’d see that we went 1-for-3.

14U WINNER: Team NC – Eaton

Team NC – Eaton won big in the very competitive younger age bracket scoring 19 runs and only giving up three runs in the trio of games today.  In the championship game, Team NC cruised to a 7-1 win.

“Our team from top to bottom was very consistent all week,” Coach Nate Eaton told us after the title win.  “

We got production from everyone on the team in some way.  Our bats were hot all week despite a slow start from our pitching staff on Monday.  The pitching staff completely turned it around after pool play and was lights the rest of the week.”

16U WINNER: East Cobb Bullets – Biele/Heath

This is the one we did get right as we knew coming into this week—shoot, heading into the summer even—that Andrew Biele and JD Heath had a team that could win it at any time.

18U WINNER: PA Chaos

 We were close on this one as we thought the Tampa Mustangs – TJ team would face the Chaos in the title game, but a funny thing happened in the opening round today.

The Mustangs had a 6-4 lead with two outs in the bottom of the 7^th but some funny bounces and clutch play by the Aces Express led to a 7-6 win for the Texas-based Aces Express.

The Express would make it to the finals, but ran into a buzz-saw in Maddie Penta, who one coach said earlier in the day: “She’s the real deal.”

This is the Chaos’ second major tournament title this summer against elite competition after winning the So Cal A’s Invitational and makes the Chaos one of the top teams of the summer… and one of the favorites for the rest of the summer.
