The 2019 Division I season is just days away and there are lots of players and storylines to keep up with as the year gets underway this week.

Here are 7 talented players Extra Inning Softball predicts will be crucial parts of their respective teams’ opportunities and postseason hopes this year.

P Jordan Dail (Oregon), So.
The departures from Oregon have been well-documented, but along with those departures have come a handful of new additions to Missy Lombardi’s inaugural Ducks roster. Dail, a southpaw formerly of Virginia Tech, is easily the most high-profile and crucial of those additions. The first addition of the now two-member pitching staff, both of whom transferred into Eugene this fall, Dail spent a single season at Virginia Tech under the guidance of Angela Tincher O’Brien and collected a 3.07 ERA and 116 strikeouts in ninety-eight innings. In addition, she held opponents to just a .209 batting average and began her career with a 20-inning scoreless streak. Much will be expected from Dail this season in Eugene as she’ll have to anchor the program’s pitching staff while facing a tough Pac-12 conference schedule.
